i have been given a pattern by a friend, that uses sirdar bigga, knitted on 15mm needles, what can i use as an alternative, as all the super chunkys i've seen, say 10mm on the ball band, so obviously not thick enough
    thanks

Nunnygirl - now that you've posted a photo of that lovely wool, as Shazrobo has said, you can use any pattern for DK wool. It would make some lovely squares - the colours are beautiful. Have a look at Maytaurus's post - on the page before this one - she has some great links on it for loads of patterns.

I have just crawled out of yet another week in a big black hole - I am not doing to well but am trying again.

Lorna, I am so sorry to read of your sad news this week, it must be really hard for you. Pam, you must also be struggling too, for everyone going through the mill at the moment I am sending you all a great big all encompassing cuddle and will keep you all in my prayers.

I am really going to try and buck my ideas up over the weekend, and keep busy.

    On the knitting front
    this weeks updates

12 cup cakes - for the R/W/B challenge

One good bit of news - I have learned to do that magic circle for the crochet - as I crochet the bottoms of the cake cases, also managed to buy an enormous box of beads in the local toy shop, for peanut money, so my next addiction can be cup cakes.
You all take great care and keep warm and safe.

Re Bigga hunt in red/pinks --- here http://www.uknit.co.uk/acatalog/Bigga.html is a shade card for Bigga...

McA direct have a few balls of a few colours, but whether they are pink or red enough I'm not too sure!! They have a clearer shade card too -- the tulip twist might work (red/pink/cream varigated it looks like) and they have 5 balls of that left apparently. Ouch £4.35 for a 100g ball\??
