went to textere this morrning, as i needed some retail therapy, i bought, 50 balls of james c brett kool kotton, in 5 different colour, i absolutly love this yarn for summer tops, washes lovely, never needs ironing. also bought 2 balls twilleys freedom wool, and a pattern to go with it for some mittens.
also bought a lovely sirdar pattern book called early arrivals, it has patterns from a prem size 10 inch chest to one year olds. the patterns are all sooooo cute, and look relatively easy.

Such a lot of sadness on here at the moment, yet some wonderful words of sympathy and heart-felt warmth. I feel very emotional when I witness the huge amount of care and love found on this thread...a wonderful community spirit. I too would like to add my heartfelt condolences to all who have lost someone and are trying to cope as best they can. :grouphug:
Not done much knitting lately, trying to get into cross-stitching atm, as plan on starting a BIG project soon - for DH's Christmas (2010 hopefully!!). I haven't cross-stitched much lately, so I am finishing off some abandoned works to get me back in the swing of it all.
I plan on sewing through the day and knitting at night...so progress on both ahead!
I am getting fed up on knitting in just white, off to root out some green and yellow baby wool to make more squarea...2 white ones done so far!
Gentle, caring thoughts go to all who need them.

I love the recipe too, I've just bought some myrrh from ebay and got my little pots ready. They are little clay amphora pots which I bought from Bodyshop years ago. If you fill them with the oil and hang them near somewhere warm such as a radiator, lovely smells fill the house. Can't wait for the myrrh to arrive to get going. Love the blog too. All that lovely countryside, makes me envious.0 -
Thank you so much for kind comments re the blog. I am really enjoying it and feel very encouraged by you all.
You just need to have a Google Account to comment and they are really easy to set up!!
Always Poor ans ISOM-- The recipe is gorgeous. I fiddled a bit with the oil quantities the second time but think I will revert back to the original quantity when I make it again as not so concentrated aroma this time. Absolutely lovely for feet pampering!!
F1WIdow My thoughts are with you and your son -- What a poor response and ou must be feeling so sad about the situation. I do hope things improve really soon for all your sakes.
I am reading a book called Radical Forgiveness which is very thought provoking and has made me think about some of the events in my life and I am willing to accept that things often happen for a very specific reason which does help you develop and grow. But watching your child struggle is so hard xx to you both
Lots and lots of gentle thoughts to all experiencing sadness at the moment.
I am just making the name flag for my friends new Grand Daughter then I am going to make the 2 squares for Granny Do
Hope you have blue skies and some warmth.Try and do a good deed every day.0 -

1 baby blanket.
most of it was knitted last week, just had a few rows which i've done today to complete it
shaz xenjoy life, we only get one chance at it:)0 -
Do you mind if I join in too please? I am just rediscovering knitting and am loving it - so therapeutic! I try to do at least a few rows whilst sitting down with DH in the evening watching TV and that way I don't feel guilty about watching TV
.
I've done a hat and 2 little tops for preemie babies so far, and am currently knitting a jumper for DS. Next on the list is a jumper for DD which is going to take a while as she's so big up to DS (she's 7 - he's 3!)
I look forward to getting to know you allFlymarkeeteer: £168 and counting0 -
Afternoon everyone
Bit of a strange request from me today (but I think thats normal!!)
I bought some lovely rippled wool (James C Brett ripple DK 50g ball) but I can't find anything I can use it with. Has anyone got any ideas? I'd hate to see it go to waste!!Sealed Pot Challenge Member 1216 -

Shaz - lots of ((((hugs))) to you. I hope you sort things out with bf/exbf.
Chalky - talking about books, I've just finished A Short History of Tractors in Ukraina - not as boring as it sounds; in fact it's very very good, and I really recommend it. I've just started The Opposite of Fate by Amy Tan and I can tell I'm going to enjoy that one, too. I shall be scouring the charity shops when we go back to the UK for some more books to take back with me. I have found someone here who sells English books, too. She's really good; she sells books and DVDs, all for three euros each or buy two, get a third one free. You can combine books with DVDs which is useful. When you have finished with them, she buys them back for €1 each which you can offset against another book or DVD. All the books, whether they are fiction or non-fiction, hardback or paperback, big or small, are the same price. She has a barn full of them which is like heaven to me, plus she visits various cafes and bars on a regular basis. She's very popular with the Brits, as you can imagine!
Well, the electric is about to go off again. DH and his friend are fitting downlights in the hall - they are looking really good, too. The lights - not the men!
