Hi Maytaurus - thanks for the lovely pictures and the great links! You're so right about the teapot! I really must get round to making a cosy for mine. I have a standard one but also a lovely little pot for one cup, and one day I will make matching cosies for them!

I hope you are feeling better these days. How are you Mum and Dad?

I've just spent a happy time looking at the latest post on Chalky's blog. There are some lovely photos with a great description of what looks like a wonderful spot near her.

    Take care

    morning all

F1 hope DS is feeling better about school - when does he move school im asking as my ds is 9 and he moves up to high school in sept im just wondering if you need to think about contacting the next school we had an awful problem with eldest ds being bullied at primary so i contacted the high school and told them what had been going on and named names thy were great and made sure that they werent in the same form etc it wasnt until he was almost ready to leave that school that they got put in a class together and it did start affecting ds work so we mentioned it at parents evening ds said hed sooner go down a grade than stay with 'gitboy' but equally was prepared to put extra effort in if he was moved up - teacher said shed talk to year head but didnt think anything could be done' ds came home elated the next day hed been moved up a group. some schools DO go the extra mile to stamp out bullying others hide it and pretend its not a problem:mad: just thought id mention it now as i didnt want to not say anything then find he was moving up and it was too late to rearrange tutor groups etc and he was stuck with trouble makers again.

maytaurus as always yours post has cheered me up no end:T

made a start on a pair of squares for poor dear Do last night, its so sad what she is going through at the moment, my prayers are with her and her family

hugs to all and i hope everyone is well

Mrs Moneypenny - how fantastic that your DS's next school took his bullying problem seriously with such a great result. It's encouraging to know that some schools don't ignore the problem and let children go on suffering. Let's hope F1widow's DS has a good response to the brave statement he made the other day. I would hate to hear that my school-aged grandchildren (ten and nearly seven years old) were being bullied.

Well, I lost my internet connection this morning; no idea why and, in frustration, I just turned the whole thing off and did some much-needed housew**k instead. As you can see, it magically restored itself so I think there must have been an external problem with the line.

Anyway, it's lunchtime here so I'd better go and sort out something to eat.

  • OH Kathy, I thought I was the one who broke it! Rang my friend and she had no connection either, did a few more cup cakes instead! What a good result Mrs Moneypenny, perhaps it can help F1's little one. Maytaurus - thanks for the links for the squares - just have to make my mind up which ones to make a start with now. Off for lunch then a little bit of shopping - hunting for beads for the cakes. Hope you are all having a great day

  • Just popping in to say thank you to all of those who have given their good wishes and support. It's been a hard few days but I'm getting there.

I can't believe how much sorting out there is to do, and it's not helped when the insurance company keeps asking the same questions again and again - they even sent a letter asking if there was a particular reason I'd stopped paying mam's premiums!

Hope all my fellow saddies are holding up, and good wishes to all those whose kiddies are having problems at school, I can't believe this is still allowed to happen after all the outcry about it in the media over the last few years

Haven't gotten around to knitting again yet, it may be a while but I will eventually.

Made a great big batch of broth today. After family have had their fill and taken more home with them I still have a huge pot full, so thinking I'll freeze some in small portions for easy meals when I can't be bothered to cook just for myself.

Vicar called out of the blue and stayed an hour or so, why o' why did it have to be when great-nephew had the whole floor covered with toys? :o She's a nice woman though and didn't even blink an eye.

Just getting around to contacting social services to take mam's wheelchair and other equipment away, it's so hard to let go but I don't think it would get any better no matter how long I waited, and someone could be benefiting from them.

Forecast is really bad for tonight, so I'm cranking the heat up and plonking myself in front of the TV.

Take care everyone, and see you again soon

Lorna - wrap up warm and take good care of yourself. It's a tough time for you. I only wish we could all be there in person to help you at this difficult time. I would imagine the vicar would have been delighted to see a room full of toys being enjoyed; it's what family is all about.

    Take care
