Good Morning everyone,
Jean/Elaine I love your scottish phrases, I can do the accent in my head but I could never say it, my cockney accent gets in the way too much, I hate it that much I've moved all round the country trying to lose it but it keeps following me.lol.
Chalky Glad you got back safely, can we have some of your sunshine? pleeeeease.
I opened the curtains this morning, don't know why I bothered it is still dark here. I am longing for the spring now.
F1 love your square, the colour and the pattern are really pretty.
Kathy hope all went well with the doctors.
Well I'm going shopping this morning while the roads are clear, then I can have the afternoon off for nice woolly stuff.
Hope everyone is well, ((Hugs)) to those that need/want them.xx:jWooligans Totals 2010:

Hi all.
Just catching up. Glad to see that you arrived safely, Chalky, although I'm sure you'll soon be so bored with all that sunshine - NOT!
Have spent the morning in the kitchen, have docs this afternoon (thanks for all the kind words, by the way), then will probably be helping DH to sort out so that we can have a TV in the new sitting room, and the little portable in the old one which is next to the kitchen, so I can listen to the news and so on, while I cook.
I've just made some leek, onion, garlic, potato and bacon bits soup which is simmering away on the hob smelling really delicious.
I've been talking on the phone to a friend of mine and it seems everyone here has the cough, so I'm pretty sure it's a virus - we'll see what Docteur Ragout says!
Special (((Hugs))) to Sunny Girl and Pam, and anyone else in need today.
Maytaurus - I hope you are having a good day today.
Salome - glad this week is a little better than last week was for you.
Kinsey - you've suggested the very thing for all of us who have been suffering in the cold weather - taking our wool, needles and hooks to Chalky's house!
Jean - I hope the bad weather goes soon. A shame you've had to miss the controle. DH's controle on his van is due to be re-done next Monday; he's had to arrange for four new tyres (the existing ones don't conform to France's regs), plus two new headlamps and a wing mirror. Around €600 to €700 all told! We didn't pay that for the van! My car is due next and I'm dreading it although it always passes in the UK. I know the headlamps will need to be changed anyway.
Thanks for your advice re taking something to the docs. I'll take a book I'm enjoying at the moment, I think. I'm crocheting something for my latest granddaughter and don't fancy taking that into a doctor's waiting room with all these bugs going around!
I've sorted out a few more patterns for squares for Chalky - I'm using up a ball of peach and a ball of blue yarn so most of my squares will be a combination of the two colours. I shall do squares on the trip back to the UK on the ferry. We are going to go back in the first week of February now - if I have a virus, the last thing I want to do is pass it on the rest of the family, so we're playing safe and waiting until I'm really better. I can hardly wait!
Anyway, I'd better go and do something useful.

Mrs Moneypenny I often think of that wonderful blanket you made for school.
Right coffeeeeeee ready!! When we looked after the Tea Rooms for our friends for a week in August ( I must have told you about the flying scones and the young mans trousers!! )they "paid" us with a really posh coffee machine -- The sort we would never treat ourselves to and it feels like a little luxury every morning x
Be back laterTry and do a good deed every day.0 -
Chalky I don't remember anything about flying scones and young mens trousers, what were you up to, we need to know!!0

Ha Ha. I think that story is left best to your imagination but swing doors, trays laden, floury scones and a handsome young man was definitely the order that day!!!Try and do a good deed every day.0

Hi all. Just back from the doctors so thought I'd let you know that the diagnosis is - a virus. I thought it would be. Of course, there's no point prescribing anything and, as I've said, I don't actually feel ill with it, just tired from disturbed sleep. Anyway, at least I am reassured and DH can stop worrying about me!
I meant to comment on that lovely little dress, Orkney - I really love it; it looks so girlie!
Chalky - flying men with no trousers on, eh? What are you like? Talking about men, I've just bought some hand cleansing gel - it's called Manurub! I think it's for the hands and not for the nearest man!
Well, we're almost in our new temporary sitting room - we're just trying to organise the furniture in a limited space. One of the sofas has been in every position possible; the poor cat - every time he sits on it, we move it! Because the room will be my office eventually, it's not the biggest of rooms but it will be a nice place to sit for now. I really hope that I will be sat crocheting in there later on this evening.
ISOM - the books sound lovely.
Anyway, I'd better go - DH needs to decide where to put the TV so I'd better supervise.

OrkneyStar that gown is really lovely, i wish i could make clever things like that
I've just had two days off work with a stomach bug so i've been sitting on the sofa crocheting when i can. I'm up to 7 squares now but I've had a change of plan in where they are going. I've been in contact with a cat and dog rescue in Costa Rica (where I am off on honeymoon next week) and asked them if i can bring anything from the UK to help them. So i've just bought a load of cat and dog wormer, I'm going to buy some toys and I'm going to crochet my squares into blankets, i just need to make another square so I have two.0 -
Kiraroo - your honeymoon sounds wonderful. When do you get married? Good luck for the day, or congratulations if you've already tied the knot! I hope you get over your bug soon but at least it didn't happen while you were away. I'm sure the rescue centre will be delighted with all the things you are taking. You can still add your squares to our update because they are going to charity - it doesn't matter what charity or where it is, everything goes to a good cause.
