kathy - pleased to hear that you are slowly feeling better and that (did I read correctly Dr Ragout - as in the mixed veg dish with sauce that is totally yummy!!!!! with courgettes onions etc) he said it was only a virus - I must admit I think I had shaz's cold thing last week sinus etc felt lousy but better now
Well DS off today every now and then he complains of a sore tummy and feels poorly (I think its time to get it checked out me thinks) it kept him up most of the night so Ive said we will have a lazy day (nothing unusual there ha ha) but then he did say he had a teacher who would not let him go to the toilet yesterday during class so whether that has something to do with it (bit too much info there sorry ha ha)
Hope everyone is ok today xx

Jacqui - yes, Dr Ragout but it's pronounced 'AWagoo' which makes me laugh! Glad you're feeling better now. (((Hugs))) to your DS.
Orkney - Maisie's gorgeous especially in her new jumper - essential for all that cold weather!
It's a lovely day here for a change. The sun is out and the sky is blue and it's actually NOT freezing. I see on the news that snow is still falling in parts of the UK so please take care, all of you, and keep safe and warm.
We are off out to visit friends for lunch now - see you later.

morning all - i am back. have been away as we have moved house - twice, so to speak. our furniture has gone to france (with all my stash and every single crochet hook i own!) and we have moved to a flat in london. its all been a bit fraught as we ended up loosing our email addresses and our internet connection as we have moved to a different borough! can you believe how silly that is in this day and age.
during the last few months, i sent off (with my SIL) 150 squares to knit-a-square in south africa, which was a lovely feeling, however i now feel rather at a loose end, so last night i re-acquainted myself with my lovely friends at Kemps and spent a lot of money, but i am sure that it will all be worth it.
pam and sunnygirl - so sorry to hear your rotten news, it is heartbreaking, but sometimes being at rest must just be the kindest option. my thoughts are with you.
chalkey - i have a new sidekick who is knitting squares for me for charity - lets just call her (if you don't mind, pam) deespal - i will be very happy to send you her squares, if you would like. i have not decided what to do with the wool i have ordered from kemps, but do know that i packed all of my scarfs, so that and a matching hat/wrist warmers are going to be done before squares!
hope that everyone is well - best wishes for a wonderful new year to you all and ... happy hooking/knitting

Good Morning to one and all
Managed to sleep really well last night-- Guess the glass of wine with delicious meal at friends helped!!!
Well just to put my flying hands in proportion. All the pretty squares were here waiting for my return so I only had to sew them together and do the border. I love that bit -- mad I know! So it is not all me by any means. The hearts cover a couple of Spanish twisted stitches!!! But the colours are beautiful !!
Dpixie Lovely to see you posting again.Yes please to the squares. Do you mind hoarding them until April? When people are MIA for a little while when they return it is like meeting up with old friends. So even if it has been ages since your last post or you want to join in please pop in!!!
Well I have to have a couple of distractions from the squares.
1. I have a new little baby -- Jemima -- to make a name flag for. One of my oldest friends is a Grandma again and I made one for Erin her first Grand Daughter . So must get on with that!!
2. I must try a puppy ( Thanks again Maytaurus) as the wedding in May requires 12 of them !!
DDIL emailed me yesterday, They are coming here for a week at Feb half term and she loves crafting so she has been researching projects for us to be involved with. Arugami? sp! dolls !! So that will be new for me too -- Oh o could another obsession be born!!! I have seen some pretty ones on here but never tried one! I like to give DDIL my full atttention as she is such a sweetie.
Well to you all= Have a the best day you can and gentle thoughts to all x

Hi everyone :hello:
Been MIA for a few day's again,
TBH I've been a bit sad and did'nt feel like talking much
My friends Mum died on Monday evening, she was taken into hospital a couple of weeks ago with a chest infection and she'd had a fall, she suffered with Alzheimers so they took her in to keep an eye on her.
The hospital rang my friend and told her to get there as soon as poss, but sadly she died a few minutes before she got there.
She was a lovely lady and a real looker in her day she loved dancing, and was a Bluebell Girl years ago. Her OH is still alive and he is 92 now, lost as you can imagine, but luckily he lives with his son who never married, so he has someone looking out for him.
Soooo much snow around here and still coming down, luckily we stocked the 2 Mums up with food and anything else they wanted yesterday.
The last few days I have almost done the edging on the ripple blanket, finished a ruffle scarf, done 2 pairs wrist warmers, started a little jumper and started a hat for Jo my friend, so I have been quite busy hook and needle wise.:D
Better go I was supposed to be making :coffee:so need to get a wriggle on
TTFN

Chalky whats this about half naked men running around??? share please :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:0 -
Sorry Pippa to hear your news- So many elderly people in my experience seem to think that another New Year ahead of them is too much to deal with and kind of give up the struggle. Both our Nans and my Mum certainly felt that way and just said how tired they felt and everything was too much effort.Try and do a good deed every day.0

Pippa- so sorry to hear your news. (((Hugs))) to her poor husband - I know what my FIL was like when my MIL died just over two years ago. He was completely out of his depth. There is such a lot of sadness around at the moment.
DPixie - I've really been wondering where you've been and how you are so it's great to hear from you. When are you planning to move to France? I hope everything goes well.
Chalky - new babies! How lovely! I never did get round to making name banners so I'm hoping to do one for Summer before we go back to the UK. There are loads of arigurumi patterns on the net and I bought myself a book some time ago - it's something I've not yet tried but plan to soon. You never know, it might be an idea for a challenge or even for next year's Christmas pressies! I'm sure you'll enjoy your DIL's visit - I'm lucky, too, both my DILs are lovely girls - I feel really blessed that they have chosen my boys and proud to be their MIL!
Well, we've had a lovely lunch at our friends, admired their new bathroom (they have one of those loos that is fixed to the wall, not the floor - well, it's so high I nearly fell off!) and enjoyed the sun which was shining just outside on the back terrace - we actually sat out there for coffee.
I'm sorry to hear that the snow is still falling in the UK - I really hope it stops soon.
Well, I'd better go and put the kettle on.
