Chalky glad you made if delayed...also had visions of you trying to get off the plane with more than you got on. i.e. couple of crochet blankets the hook will turn up, I put a hex on it so we can all catch up with you whizzing away.
F1 lovely patterned square, may go and investigate that at a later date
Orkney star what a sweet wee dress is it crochet? If so could you bung me a copy of the pattern - now that I am practicing crochet - lots of tiny hats so far but I am getting a bit fed up with them.
Kathy, good luck with the quack - perhaps you just need a bottle of French jollup to sort you out. Oh and was that you crying during the acceptance speech at the oscars...enough with the thanks, its my pleasure - just keeping my fingers crossed they were all right!
DIDN'T WORK WILL TRY AGAIN LATER WHEN I AIN'T ON THE LAPDOG MACHINE
think thats the link for the totals on google you shouldn't need to log in just click - there again its been ages and I think Maytaurus did the last linky for me so it might not work

Not a problem Orkney Star - just wanted a wee change from the hats, flexing my new found skills and it looked quite easy.
NOTE- The Loving Hands challenge is extended to the end of JANUARY now due to rotten weather and folk not being able to get to Post offices, so no new challenge till the end of the month.
Away to try that linky thing that Maytaurus did a couple of weeks ago - fingers crossed
this is the spreadsheet on google docs - to see if it works click and see

Hi Jean, is your name on the spreadsheet the `posh` version??
Roamin in the glaomin (get the bool oot yer mooth - sorry,Scottish technical phrase)
Chalky - I can stop watching the news now that you are safely on land again. Kept thinking we might see some mad woman being dragged off by the police/security men shouting `I`m not a terrorist, I`m a hooker`:D
Blimey, if we sat out here in our PJ`s drinking tea, we`d die of hypothermia - mega ((((shivers)))).Please send us some sunshine.
Been knitting a baby blanket for DD but my wrist is aching a bit so have started another square as that`s a good bit lighter to hold.
Got to keep it mobile though.
Off for a cuppa before bedtime.
Night night all.

Wow --- Me on first that is unusual.
Had a sneaky nap yesterday afternoon so sleep pattern needs a littlle tweaking now , The hour difference here as well.
Still I can pretend I am all efficient now!!
Just read back through the thread and of course was so sorry for Sunnygirl and Pam having such a difficult start to the year, No matter what the circumstances losing a dear loved one is so hard isn't it so special gentle thoughts
to you both.
Salome hope things get a little brighter for you too.
Shaz - Hope things are sorted with your partner
I love Yoga here- the teacher is an Israeli lady who is absolutely inspirational. She talks so much about inner peace and living for this very moment and I hope these dark moments for you all will soon be replaced by a feeling of hope and the belief that life will get better.
Psso -- Hooker safe and sound even if minus 1 hook! I purposely bought another 1 so that I would be assured I could go on hooking no matter what but its not to be I BLAME JEAN and that hex!!
Kathy - Good Luck at the doctors and with everything French !!! We had a lovely time in the UK, especially of course catching up with loved ones but it is lovely to get back to a simpler life here. The traffic and shopping in England seem to get busier every time we go home. My Sil said once when trying to simplifly her life " You don't need anything til you go to the shops!" and it is so true but shopping seems to have become number 1 hobby in the UK or is it just my girls !! Stuff everywhere!!
Roamin-- I give you todays Oscar for sounding so colourful- I smile when I picture it!
Pol Lovely to see you back
ISOM -- You sound really busy and so positive I hope 2010 is a much better year for you.
Mrs M-- Love the stash -- I love wool but couldn't fit too much as only travelled with hand luggage!
Maytaurus Lovely to see all your posts Hope things are a bit easier for you.
F1 - Great to see your square.
Orkney - That dress is beauyiful
Kinsey How did the wedding go?? Really well I hope.
Purple teddy Bear Glad to see you posting -- Hope the family are all well.
Pippa A new whole Year to enjoy your Grandchildren and get to know the not so new little one even more! How wonderful!
Well I am also looking forward to seeing what Lou has in store for us all. I probably have my hands full at the moment but she is so wonderful and I love the way she thinks of so many varying themes. Have you seen the " plank! " appeal!
I had a lovely surprise when I got back 1 of the ladies from the Spanish knitting group had delivered enough squares for a Lapacuddly ghan so I started the sewing and finishing last night. Really pretty in lilacs, purple ,blue and yellow.
Thank you to all who are making squares. It really is only a little side event. Something of joint venture but with 3 Lappys already what a lovely tribute to the thread it is going to be,
As we are now safely stowed here I will start the first collection in the uk April. Then July then we shall have to see as have not planned further than that!!
So please feel free to make 1 or 100 or none at all. No pressure just a fun thing which will do so much good.
Right to all the newbies -- a very big welcome and thanks for joining us!!

Good morning everyone.
f1 widow what a pretty square, I like the colour as well. I went on ravelry and put squares in the search box, there's loads, haven't got to the end yet and have bookmarked a lot!
OrkneyStar, that is such a sweet little gown.
Jean Love the expression Lapdog Machine, mental picture of dog with keyboard on it's back, grinning.
Chalky glad you got there ok, you make it sound so lovely and warm and peaceful, you could end up with a dozen lodgers, all armed with needles and hooks.
mioliere good luck at the doctor's.
Pam and SunnyGirl, thoughts and prayers are with you.
Lots of love, xxxx0 -
Goodmoring,
Thanks Elaine that was my fur coat voice I used (Scottish technical term) sorted, I take it you did the clicky linky thingie and it worked then, so I have sorted it - ma heid wiz fu' o' sweeties- x (hope you are all practicing the Scottish ?) I will take new photo's today and pm them to you - long story.
OK folks while Chalky hasn't yet found the crochet hook we have a chance to catch her up.I can't hold the hex forever!
Mioliere - take a bit of crochet to the Quacks - even if you have an appointment - you could be in for a long wait. Had to cancel our controlle (MOT) for today as we had sleet overnight and the place is like an ice rink, seriously considering donning the tu tu and the ice skates
I am off to find just one pattern for squares and stick to it, I don't have the time Kinsey to be searching high and low for the definitive one - anything will do for me.
Thinking of you all and hope you all have a warm, safe day.
