Re hackey sacks - Balls to you too k2tog
!! Thanks for the info, glad to know it`s nothing errrr ....naughty. Could you maybe use the stuff from a cheapy pillow or duvet to stuff `em with or polystyrene bead thingies for bean bags ? Lighter than the dried peas Roamin` was going to use, cheaper to post.
Sunnygirl - think someone posted a link for us girls who need `proper woman size` knits the other day but I can`t remember who it was -Maytaurus maybe ??? Someone else might remember.
I agree with Kinsey re medication for MIL - maybe just to ease things for her a bit more. Hugs for your family at this difficult time. A lot of us have been in similar circumstances.
Pam - re Pamspal & DH - it`s time like this that you know who your real friends are. There for each other in troubled times. ((Hugs))
Hope everyone who is travelling to foreign parts have a safe journey, Chalky have you room in your case for a little `un?? It might be a bit warmer in Spain and I`m soooo fed up with the cold here. By the way I think it was Bovey Tracey my cousin moved to, can`t for the life of me think of the name of the place she used to live tho`, in the same area, but my brain has gone ----ok,ok so that`s nothing new just before anyone else says it  Had a couple of lovely holidays down there quite a few years ago when my `first` family were young, but never got that far with Jim and our two youngsters.
Suppose I`d better get to bed for a while and try to sleep for a while. It will soon be time to take DD to work.

Hi everyone; a real sleepy-head here because this nagging cough kept waking me up in the night. I am so tired and really feeling the cold despite DH telling me that it's warm in here! He keeps showing me the thermometer which shows a constant 23 degrees indoors, but I don't believe it! I think I'll make an appointment with the doctor today. I'll probably be told it's 'just a virus' but better safe than sorry.
Sunny Girl - my thoughts are with you and your family.
Pam - (((hugs))) to you.
DH's van failed the MOT here in November. You get three months to put things right before a vehicle is tested again so he's getting the work done on it this week. He needs the headlamps altered because they don't conform, and also all four tyres need replacing because they don't conform either. They did when it was MOT'd in the UK! All in all, it will have cost a small fortune to get it through - more than we paid for the van in the first place! My car needs MOT'ing next and, although it's always gone through with no problems in the UK, no doubt it will need a fortune spent on it over here.
Anyway, enough moaning - I'm anti-France at the moment and just longing to go back and see the family, which I hope will be very soon. I'm also fed up with all the renovation work - all the houses we've had have needed 'doing up' and the novelty has definitely run out for me with this one!
I should be able to post the year's first update later on this morning, using Jean's shiny new spreadsheet. I can't post it on here but it will go on blog as usual. I'll let you know when it's done. Considering it's early January, I can't believe the totals already. I only wish I had time to do more. I've only done two of Chalky's squares so far, sadly.
Talking of Chalky, I hope she managed to get on her way back to Spain yesterday. I'm assuming she did because she hasn't posted since yesterday morning.
Kiraroo - it's my fault; I should have said about highlighting your totals in red. It makes it so much easier for me to find when I'm updating! I post the update on my blog because I can't post it on here for some reason. It's on a brilliant spreadsheet devised by Jean ('Roamin in the gloamin' on here). You can find the latest one, from December last year, on my blog - click into my name at the left hand side of this post, then look for 'Mioliere's homepage'.
Anyway, I'm off for a shower to try and wake myself up! Hope you all have a good day and that the weather does not cause too many problems.

Morning all. A bit of sad news to start with as MIL died last night at 11.20pm. She remained asleep & it was very peaceful. We are sad but relieved too that she is no longer suffering. Thank you for all your good wishes, prayers & support :A
Maytaurus You are an angel finding those patterns thank you :T
K2tog Yes the stash was actually lost in the depths of the cupboard :rotfl: It's all neatly tidied away now in a lidded toy box so I can't mislay it again
No more snow here overnight thankfully & the school/college are open. I think that the boys are going in and DD will stay off. She was closest to her Gran and is much more upset than they are. I'm about to see how they all are now.
Have a good day everyone xxx0 -
Sunny Girl - so sad to hear the news about your poor MIL. (((Hugs))) to you and your family.

Morning all
Sunnygirl sorry to hear about your DMIL but it must be a comfort that she is free from suffering. Thinking of your family. It's hard for children to lose precious grandparents.
May you have come up trumps again. Hope you are feeling OK and not overdoing it.
Mioliere sorry to hear you feel a bit fed up. I'm sure it's mainly that you are anxious to get back here and see your family - as well as the car expense. Try and be kind to yourself today and tell DH "Dave" is on strike!
Know what you mean Elaine about the weather - and you lot north of the border have definitely had it worse than down here. I have muscles in strange places aching from being so tense as I'm walking across the ice :rotfl:.
Pam, remember we don't mind if you want to moan or rant so please post if the mood takes you. Look after yourself.0 -

Jean, wow how much snow? hope you are keeping warm.
Chalky hope you have arrived safely. I owe you a big thankyou, I followed your square instructions you posted and I have finished my first square that is actually square.
I went in to B&M stores this morning and they have huge balls of aran wool for £3.49 I think they are 500g. Felt really soft too, I was a good girl and left them there today, get paid next week tho so might go back then. They also had 100g balls of dk for 89p, lots of different colours too.
