Hello to all the oldies and newbies :hello:and happy new year!
Been away from here for a few days and it's been lovely catching up with you all.
Sunnygirl sorry to hear you are having a difficult time.
Well, I have been a good girl and done some sewing up - see my halo?
But let's not mention i*****g.........
I have a few things on the go and I really need to sort out my stash so I can bust it! I have decided that I need to spend less time browsing patterns and being indecisive and more time doing stuff, so I'm going to try having a to-do list - literally. Who knows, it might work . Off to overhaul my sig so I can start with a clean slate.
Night all x0 -
Welcome back salome - hope things improve soon
Now lets just check that weve got right shop...capital centre, first jewellry store on left? If so thats the right one and is "mine" and I need to go in as mum has lost grannys ring so as I surprise I want to see if they can do a design and price like they did with mine....
As for cats I think mine is of the floosy dept. I'm going to ring vet first thing as suspect she is "calling" already as I lock her in at night and she was near frantic to get out tonight...not a good sign so will see if she can have the emergency, rather than lengthy in 3wks, chop as really dont want kittens (cute though they are and in my heart I would have a gazillion...)...Nerd no 109 Long haulers supporters DFW #1! Thanks for the patterns Maytaurus, I was looking at my stash of chunky wool yesterday & wondering what to do with it, as I don't have much of any colour.
Hugs Hester

Hi everyone -- Just a quickie as I am supposed to be playing cards in a minute -- I'd rather be knitting but hey ho
Sqaures are looking and sounding great Thanks so much.
Salome old peoples homes have been suggested and that is wonderful--- your family sound very generous. What a lovely thing to do for that couple.
If anyone is dying to get a move on and shift their squares we are in the UK until Sunday so I think early postage at the beginning of the week would be fine. PLEASE send as cheaply as possible as I am very aware how hard things are for everyone after Christmas.
My DD does live in our house whilst we are in Spain but after next Sunday I would ask if everyone can just hold on to any squares until after April 10th as that is when we return to the UK next and when I will devote all my time to sewing them together--- I really enjoyed that job on Elaines blankets . If anyone wants to add a knitted heart in the parcel or sewn on their squares itreally did lift the finished blankets . Lots of patterns for knitted and crochet ones on google.
Dont worry if you dont want to.
Right must go

Hope all of you are well, and if not, snuggle in and get better.
Hope you did not get another sore back doing the ironing Kathy- for the reason of back pain we don't iron (I even know avoid buying things that need it....I love blouses but try to air them flat!).
Love the patterns May, can I say that chunky wool also does the ruffle scarf well- just a slightly bigger hook though and at least 250g is needed (I used 175g but did a tighter last row without the dc increases).
More snow meant to be coming and the ice is still here....poor DS not been out a walk on feet in ages, it kills my back to push the buggy and the driving conditions not great either!
xx

Hi all - well I thought I would just have a break from the i*****g agghhhh I have sooooo much its my own fault not done any since before xmas - I think it will be a 4 hour stint again ....
Finished off a square last night and started another vent hat - as sunnygirl said they are midly addictive;) - bit like the stretchy ones I got well into those last year
well just finish my cuppa off and a couple of biccies for energy and back to the hot thing that makes things less creased I suppose :rotfl:
Am looking after a friends son so him and DS are on the Wii Playing nicely (for how long I wonder...)

Hi everyone - hope you're keeping warm and, for all those going back to work today, or with children going back to school, I hope you have a lovely day. It's freezing cold today with a strong breeze so I've hung some washing on the line, wearing my fingerless gloves because it's perishing-cold! We have a delivery of central-heating oil arriving this afternoon (well, I hope it is but the French aren't known for their reliability!).
Chalky - I've done two squares so far (I'm fitting them in between other thngs). One is a granny square, the other is plain dc in the back loop only, so I shall find a motif to applique onto it. I won't risk posting them to get to you by Sunday in case the post is held up either end by snow or something, so will hang on to them until your next trip back to the UK. Have a safe journey back to Spain.
May - lovely patterns, thanks. I have lots of chunky wool, so am already thinking of next year's pressies! Hope your Mum is doing well.
Welcome back, K2tog!
Salome - what a kind-hearted family you have!
Well, I have some online work to do, then some letters to write and a quick trip to the nearest post box, then lunch, then crochet for the afternoon, I think. It's just the right sort of weather for lying around on the sofa!
Have a good day, everyone.

Good morning all.
Maytaurus Thank you for the patterns & if I ever get the hang of crochet I shall give them a go especially the ear flap hat - it's brilliant :T:D DH is on the lookout for the How to Crochet magazine for me but all the local shops, including Tesco, seem to have sold out  I guess it's pretty popular as the 1st issue is only 99p.
DS2 & DS3 are back at school today the other 2 will return to college tomorrow. I have cleaned through, as I do on Monday's, and am thrilled that it has a chance of staying tidy until 4pm :rotfl: A bit of cross stitch to finish this afternoon then I can concentrate on knitting for a few months.
MIL still the same although her GP is coming to look at her this morning so we may know more later. The leaving her & giving morphine treatment doesn't seem to be working as they thought it would so we'll see. Don't worry, I'm not having false hope I suppose I just want some answers & time guides which are impossible to give.
Chalky I'll happily wait until April to send you the squares as it'll give me a chance to do a few more. I was hunting out squares with heart relief patterns in the library book I got last night so will hopefully get some done
Shezmit Do you prefer us to wait until we have a few items before posting them off or post a couple at a time? As I'm new to all of this I am unsure of the way of doing it all. I'll need an address too :rotfl:
Have a good day all & keep warm.0 -
F1Widow - re the updates. I'll carry on updating from figures posted up to midnight on Sundays. Hope that suits everyone.
