Morning all, bit chilly today isn`t it ? Had a couple of snow showers and more to come I believe. Just the weather to stay inside and do the woolly stuff.

Been popping in now and again to keep an eye on you all but every time I do, something or someone demands my attention !!

Never mind, better to be kept busy I suppose. Had very little time at home yesterday, it was the school Christmas concert so had to pick up little lad from nursery, feed him and get him back for the second showing. They had the local pensioners in the morning and parents etc in the afternoon. At night DD and I went to the panto at the theatre - Oh yes we did - and it was great fun. Really cheered us both up.:rotfl:

Managed to do a few rows of the latest scarf to go with the hat I finished at the weekend (charity) and have a wee bit more to do on the second cushion cover for DGD`s bedroom, although it won`t really matter if it`s not finished before Christmas as it`s an `extra` pressie.

Lovely pics of kittys - home and `foreign`;) and toooo many patterns. Have to start a shift system - day shift 6-2, back shift 2-10 and the night shift 10-6 and just have power naps in between to keep going :p along with the necessary cuppas of course.

Shelley -Well done with your sales, you`ve done a great job.

Welcome to all the newbies - it`s great to see the word spreading and you`re all very welcome to join in, the more the merrier and more done for various good causes.

Chalky - good to see you got home safely but sorry to hear about your DD. Hope she`s not suffering too much pain/shock. ((hugs)) for her.

(((Hugs))) for those who need them, poorlies, MIA`s (Lorna? definitely worried about her/family) and anyone feeling generally down in the dumps.

Right, off to finish decorating the tree, then lunch, visit to midwife with DD (25 weeks already ) post cards then put up feet with wool and needles - hopefully :rotfl:

    See you later.

Pippa S - re Mum`s bingo wins - beginners luck - yay - has she got a lottery ticket, it might be her lucky week !!!!

Sorry but i would like to send something could i crochet some granny sqs or is it full completed projects you want ?

If so im sure i could whip up a blanket ?
  • Hi all, hope everyone is managing to keep warm. It is cold and grey again here with the odd sleety shower.

I have been busy finishing off the Christmas presents and have done four ruffle scarves now. Each one seems to be a little bit different through slight changes I made along the way. Am thinking of doing one with a fluffy last row next time and may even keep that one.

Mioliere, I thought that your pics of the cats were gorgeous, especially the one where they are curled up 'spoons' style. The simonscat site is a MUST for all cat lovers.

I have been looking at the thread about condensation and it looks like pretty much everyone suffers at this time of year. It’s much nicer in summer not having 'window wiping' on the list of morning chores.

Glad to see Zippychick on here as we met on the crochet site.

Best wishes to you all, K

Hi Owens and a warm welcome to you. We do individual squares or complete blankets - whatever you choose! Loving Hands take squares and sew them into blankets. Here's a link to Maytaurus's list; http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showpost.html?p=25685267&postcount=143 she has lots of links on there for all the different things we make, and addresses for sending them to various charities.

Well, it's snowing hard here; it looks lovely but I hope we don't get snowed in. I just nipped out to fill the car up and only the major roads have been gritted, not our country ones. Still, it's meant to warm up again from Monday, so I think we'll survive until then!

Hope you are all keeping warm.

    Hello again,
Had a lovely meal, just as we finished I looked out of the window and it was snowing HARD, carried on for about half an hour then slowed down and stopped. Took Jo home had a quick cuppa then came home, it started snowing again as we pulled up on the drive. Stopped again now how long for ....who knows :D

Elaine - Glad you've been popping in for a read. DD 25 weeks already thats gone sooo quickly. Lottery that's an idea, I will get one for her on the way over on Saturday, well you never know the way her luck's running ;)

Ladykath - funny but this year we have condensation on some of our windows, goodness knows why it's never happened before. I have opened the vents on the patio doors so that should help

Off to make us a :coffee:might put a drop of something extra in to warm us up

Hello Owens - good to see you over here.
Haven't posted for a bit but have been reading - nothing bad going on, just busy finishing pressies.
psso, so pleased to see you back again. I agree re Lorna. It would be great to know if she is OK or if she isn't, whether we can be of any help.
Congrats on the additions and the Christmas fayre totals Shelley. I hurriedly sent a parcel on Tuesday morning but didn't mention it as wasn't sure it would get there - and apparently it hasn't . I forgot to put the mini teds in it as well. Sorry, am a disaster area at the moment!
Hope oldies and newbies are all well and May is taking it easy. Chalky I hope DD is OK
Back to another ruffle scarf - I'll definitely be giving these a rest for a bit after Christmas!

    Hi everyone
Thank you so much for all your kind wishes for DD1 -- It really does feel like a family on here. It is so lovely to feel that there is a cosy blanket of support from one friend to another.

She is still not herself-- headaches, backache and to be honest looking like a sheet. We had to take Buster for an injection this afternoon and it was as much as she could manage!! Anyway work have been brilliant even though she had a complete wedding party make up booked in for Saturday. She is so disappointed to be missing all the fun of Christmas -- and the tips!!!

Well we are just about catching up with ourselves-- Tree and decs up etc etc etc. And even though we are freezing it is nice to be somewhat more organised here with Christmas just around the corner. It is very noticeable how stressed everyone is here and how fast they are driving/walking etc etc.

Well no craft work here at the mo. I did buy a packet of Curly Wurly's today I am going to wrap each Curly key ring up with1 for the stocking presents!!

Right I have waffled on for long enough about Me and Mine. I am sending lots of gentle thoughts to one and all.Hope the ones with 'littlies' are coping with all the excitement. Anyone who is spinning hundreds of plates please take a few deep breaths and I hope your load lessens very soon. To all who are finding this time a bit much for lots of reasons -- lots of loving thoughts

Will pop back tomorrow so Sleep Tight one and all

Good Morning to all!! Its still flippin freezing but at least it is dry and is promising what looks like a beautiful day
MEMO TO MYSELF-- Never mind everybody else having a pair of Wristwarmers knit me a pair--- You never know a pair may be dropped in the Charity Box by the back door after they have read my poem so I might get a pair yet!

Well I knew it would have to happen - I woke eatly for me with the word LIST in capital letters right in front of my eyes so its started.!!!

So no more hooking going on here until everything is done I can spend hours just loving the twirling but it doesnt get the dinner ready does it!!

Now 2 tips which help me enormously
1 If you have a slow cooker put the pudding in it in a diffferent room when you get up on Christmas morning and as klong as you top it up usually only once it will sweetly warm all day !
    2. Make your gravy as soon as you can and pop it into the largest thermos flask or flasks you have
Both these save precious hob space
    .

I also make the leeks in white sauce, mashed parsnips with cinnamon and cream, braised red cabbage and alll the stuffings and pop them all in the freezer

Have got a lovely celery and walnut stuffing which I will post if anybody wants it

So I am off to the shower--- ohhhh a warm place !!

Lots of love and big hugs to ane and all.
Try and do a good deed every day.
