Hello everyone
Went to Mums this AM and finished the last of her wrapping up,and sorted the Christmas stuff out.
She was going with the other ladies to the school on the School mini bus for a carol service this PM so I was told I had to go home earlier today so she could get ready
Then she said "you're not coming Friday are you? as the other school choir are coming to sing carols in our day room" so I guess that told me....
She is loving it where she is now but really did'nt want to go into sheltered accommodation, I don't think she realised at first that she would have her own flat, but after being there for 18months now, she said she wished she had done it before. There is always someone to talk to and so much going on, better than living on your own she said.
They have had a new TV in the day room and one of the younger ladies(she is 72) put's on a film show every Sunday at 2:00pm, they have a whale of a time 1 makes the tea, 1 supplies the biscuits and Mum takes the ice creams,
May - I am not usually that organised its a fluke
Kathy - ISOM - lovely pics of the cats
ooops dinner ready off to dish up back later

HI everyone. Hope you are all doing well. I didn't get much time on here yesterday, what with visitors in the morning, running errands in the afternoon, and helping DH with work on the house.
I'm just about to post the update on my blog. Thanks to the amazing Jean, it's all ready for posting. Jean - you've made things so much easier for me - thank you!
I had put all the scarves I have made ready for taking photos and the batteries had run out in my camera, so I shall take photos when they've recharged. I'm still sewing up Mum's cushions - I would have finished them if I hadn't slept all the way through a complete film last night! DH said it was good, too. Wesley Snipes was in it and I had been looking forward to watching it.
Anyway, it's still really cold here - we have roadside temperature boards here and, on the way back from running errands here, they were registering -3 degrees in the late afternoon. The sun actually came out but too late to do any good. I'm so glad I invested in a full-length coat a couple of years ago, and had my favourite boots heeled and soled last year (at a cost of £16, which came as a shock - but was worth it because I live and die in those boots every winter. I've had them for ten years. They cost £45 new and that was the first time I had had them repaired, so really they've worked out at good value for money. They clean up well and I'm sure I'll get another few winters out of them! True money-saving!) Once I was properly wrapped up, it was only my nose that was cold!
All the streets here have been decorated with lights but they don't switch them until the evening time, so we will go out one evening and take some photos. I wish they would switch them on earlier as I'm sure the children don't get the chance to see them at night.
I had my hair cut here in August. My hair is long and straight and the hairdresser didn't do a very good job - I paid €34 for a shampoo, cut and blow dry (they didn't let me book for just a trim), and had to trim it again myself when I got home. I was determined to wait until we went back to the UK so I could visit my usual hairdresser's, but it needs another trim, so I've made an appointment with someone just around the corner - she only charges €13 for a trim so, fingers crossed, I'll be happier this time round! I will let you know how it goes; the appointment is for Monday afternoon.
Anyway, I'm waffling. Maytaurus - hope you have a good day today.
I hope all those who have been poorly lately are feeling a lot better.
ISOM - I love that scarf pattern and will hunt out some wool. In the meantime, once I've finished the cushion covers, I need to decide which dress to make for my latest granddaughter, Summer - Maytaurus has found some lovely patterns.
Well, I'd better go and do the update - it will be the last one until the New Year.
take care everyone.

Love the !!!!!kins pics :-) So sweet.
ISOM..... Crochet is easy. Have a day in Calne, and I'll teach you :-)
Got some rows done on my charity square yesterday. Need to get my neighbours 2nd slipper sock on the needle. Bought the wool to do the cot blanket for a girl at church. I shall crochet that. Will definitely have to organise my time lol. Shall have to leave the Family Tree for a few days I think lol, or at least spend less time on it :-)
A happy and prosperous day to you all :-)

Hello all
Early for me today, I have just ordered some more Pampas wool from Cucumber Patch, I have done DGD 1 chunky jacket and almost finished DGD 2 but ran out of wool  my own fault I usually order an extra ball just in case but did'nt this timeso now I think they will be for a special New Year pressy.
While I was in the c/patch site I found a blog by a lady who has her own shop called K2TOG, and could'nt resist copying the pic, I will post it at the end of this.
May - (((hugs)))for you and family,1942 thats a long time to be together
Kinsey - yes she is, and certainly keeps me on my toes
Kathy - goodness me that sure is a lot for a trim and blow, just a thought.... your OH could help out there and take lessons in his spare time.....it would save you a fortune :rotfl: The little crochet dress with the shell skirt is similar to one in a pattern book I have somewhere(probably in the loft) I made it for my neice who is now 38.
Sing along please """Heaven, I'm in heaven tra la la la""" is there anything more enthralling than looking at wool:rotfl:
Drool away ladies :drool::drool::drool:

Lovely pet links maytaurus, especially the snuggle tubbie. As there will no doubt be lots of cats dumped after christmas this is a great idea, (could also be used as stash basket).0
