Previous floor games have always been sewn and I really don't think my knitting or crochet are up to trying this again, but I am pleased with the outcome even if it did take forever! Back later when I have read the forum,

re; my update ... you have to remember how long it is since I did one though Kathy
I sent a boxful of things to shezmit forPreemies UK & the craft fayre,
I hope it gets there in time, I sent it 1st class (nearly £9) only because of everything here being so complicated & not being able to organise properly
I’ve got cards here for my mum & dad but don’t know what to do with them, with dad being in the bungalow & mum being in the nursing home
I’d really like mum to be home for Christmas but I don’t know if it will be possible as I’m having some probs myself health wise, dad still can’t stand up properly and I feel awful that I can’t make things right, specially at this time of the year ... mum & dad have been together every xmas since 1942
Kathy RE; ‘I am currently looking for a crochet dress pattern (for Summer, who is nearly four months old, so I want to make one for aged 6 months)’

In Search of Me Isoke is just gorgeous, and what a very pretty egg cosy.
Clever knitted boards Jean.
Maytaurus I really feel for you over your parents, can't social services help even if it's just over christmas. It's heartbreaking after so many years. Just don't try to do too much yourself. Really wish I could help.0 -
oo people be busy! Thanks kinsey...didnt realise I had such a cute piccy and will develop that me thinks - sums up her "who me?" mischevous streak!!
Hugs may...really tough when you want to help but cant - maybe "reframe" to thinking of short term rest and recoup for long term ability to help your parents? Sure there are people around you who could help...? May be worth getting in touch with age concern who a hospital discarge service...
Made a small purse from sari woo but it sure is hard to sew up!! Will use thread next time! sleep tight all...special thoughts to chalky travlling home...Nerd no 109 Long haulers supporters DFW #1! Even in the darkest moments, love and hope are always possible.0 -
Hi everyone. I hope you are all doing well.
I didn't get much chance to come on here yesterday. We have snow forecast for the end of the week, so I decided to go out and get stocked up food-wise. We are only five minutes drive from the local town, but that five minutes is down a long country road - not something I'd like to negotiate in a snowstorm! Plus, I have been 'helping' to fit the 'risers' in a staircase - that was thrilling stuff (not!!). I've started sewing up my Mum's cushion covers but, as I keep getting interrupted, it's a slow process.
It has been bitterly cold here and was -2 degrees by dinner time last night; I shan't be surprised to see the snow.
Well, Maytaurus - there are some gorgeous patterns for little dresses; thank you so much. I just have to choose one now but I think I will go for the last one because it looks fairly straightforward. Please don't feel bad that you can't help your mum and dad as much as you would like. The fact that you care and love them so much is really important. As Kinsey has suggested, perhaps social services can help?
Well, I'm finding it hard to feel really Christmassy because I would much rather be back in the UK and seeing all the family over the holidays. With all the DIY going on here, it's hard to find the motivation to really get going on it. I shall be calling a halt to all the renovations at the end of this week, though. I heard DH telling his brother that he will be taking down the dreaded ceiling over the next couple of weeks - I had to remind him that that will be over Christmas, and that I'm NOT living with all the upheaval! The fact is that the ceiling is in our temporary sitting room and I haven't been able to put any decorations up because I don't know what's going on in there! He says it will only take a couple of days - yeah, right!
Jean - your floor games are wonderful, really imaginative; you're so clever and inventive, aren't you? I'm so impressed. Is it cold where you are? It's freezing here!
ISOM - lovely photo! I took photos of Louis (and next door's big ginger and white cat who comes over and spends time with Louis) and will post them in a minute.
DPixie - if you are reading this, I hope you are well. It seems ages since we heard from you.
Well, I'd better go and find some photos of the cats.
