Shelley - congratulations to all your family. What a lovely surprise for your family

Try, as difficult as I am sure it must be, to pause and savour each moment. Time goes faster not more slowly as you get older and I thought that an impossiblity when I had 3 little ones especially at this time of year.

    Thanks Kinsey ,
Super Card I use Jacqui Lawson a lot when I am out here and they are lovely

xx I am off to do MILS HAIR__ EEK not 1 of my few strengths !
Try and do a good deed every day.
  • Hi all, been a busy weekend for me so far, with a History Society meal on Friday and our annual Badminton Club dinner last night then the church Carol Service for this evening. Promise that the diet starts AFTER Christmas.
Thank you Kinsey for the lovely ecard, it was so sweet.
I did the Tarot card test too and this is what it came up with
You are The Wheel of Fortune
Good fortune and happiness but sometimes a species of intoxication with success
The Wheel of Fortune is all about big things, luck, change, fortune. Almost always good fortune. You are lucky in all things that you do and happy with the things that come to you. Be careful that success does not go to your head however. Sometimes luck can change.

I am a January Aquarian and I guess luck would depend as I feel lucky with life generally, but have not won the lottery yet (don't do it), so that would mean that I am happy with what comes to me.
Nice bit of fun doing it and hearing what others have had.
I have been putting up some fleecy linings to my living room curtains this morning. I heard about it somewhere on MSE threads and have already tried it in the bedroom and it does help keep cold out. Was lucky to find a shop in town selling the right size fleeces in a lovely cream for £2 each. Did I say LUCKY???? Yep, that tarot does have something :-)
Off for a coffee and a quick knit before partner back from church.
    Hugs to you all....K x

You know when you confidently knit and hook all through October, November and nearly up to Christmas Eve in December and you lovingly look at all your creations thinking " Oh , just the right colour for so and so!! " and " Oh they will love this" etc etc. Then all of a sudden a little voice peeps up and says

" Oh heck they may just take this home, smile to themselves and think dotty old Mum!! And the
disappears in the lets forget it drawer

Well faced with this thought late last night as I was packing up each little parcel for our return home this little poem came into my head. I am going to write to each one of our lovely lot who are with us on Christmas Day--- Then I expect they will think I am dottier than ever!!!

These presents are made with lots of Love xxx

I made these for you but really don't mind.
If you really would rather leave them behind!!
If they are going to go home and live in a drawer
Please pop them in the Charity Box by the back door!!
Try and do a good deed every day.

That's a great idea Chalky. I always think, as I'm wrapping, oh dear now I'm not so sure. My tarot card should have been 'The Procrastinator'.
  • Hello all.

Just a quick pop in to update (will do that in a separate post).
    Chalky - love your poem!!
    Kinsey - loved the card.

My tarot was the empress - not sure about that.
I don't seem to have had much time for charity knitting lately - I was asked to dress some dolls for a work colleage and that has taken quite a while. Also I've had a frozen shoulder for about 6 - 7 weeks now, doesn't stop me knitting but makes everything else really awkward to do. I've been told that it could last for at least 5 - 6 MONTHS!!! I HOPE NOT.!!!
Hope everyone has had a good day.
Happy thoughts to those who need them, hugs for the poorlies.

    Ann xx
