Here they are, the purple and red balls have glitter in them, does'nt look easy to knit with though, thats probably why Dsis gave them to me:rotfl: The cream that Mum bought me, has a scarf pattern on the reverse of the lable. Ah well I am off to have a go...watch this space.

Yes Chalky thats what I used on some of them 4mm (old 8) and DK. I did some for DGD's and used DK and 3.75mm (old 10)you will soon see if they will be large enough if not you can always put a few more sts on.
    Have fun

Well DMIL has been looking at DDS Christmas projects with interest so I thought I would wait til she toddled off to bed and then try some of these fingerless gloves. Well I must say mine is a very pretty variation of the Waffle pattern but it is definitely a variation --- OOPS
Anyway will continue cos I don't think it will make a lot of difference and she will be chuffed HMMMMM wonder what I did wrong !! No need to feel overwhelmed with me about!!!
Sleep tight everybody and thanks for advice Pippa

I REALLY DO GO ON A LOT- TEA AND BISCUITS MIGHT BE REQUIRED! It's not a post its a BOOK.
Taking Maytaurus’ sage advice and doing this in M word, just want to catch up with you all.
Mrs Moneypenny, your DS sounds a proper treasure rescuing the hedgie what a kind and caring soul, hope the wee things goes from strength to strength over the winter months.
ISOM – heard the expletives and multiplied them all this last week! Zilch seems to have gone right so far but I am hopeful of a change of KARMA today, better be or I will be sent to stay in the camper for the remainder of the month.
Shazrobo – that Meadowhell sounds like a place for me to avoid at all costs! Glad you finished the hat for Ian tho’ bet he loves it
K2tog- DON’T BANK ON IT with the tree looking all colour co-ordinated and lovely. I always aspire to mine looking perfect but somehow it still resembles a sack of worms – colourful ones at that, the whole family think I just chuck it all at it to get the desired effect, but it has taken years of practice to achieve. I still have DS’s snowflake and his set of 2½ wise men (long story but the dog got yelled at) and this year a host of snowpeople to add, might even manage a photo or two for the “who can get the most onto a tree competition” what do you think?
Chalky – hope your still having a great time with your MIL, there I was thinking I was the only one with nutty offspring and along you come and post photo’s of your daughter as a carrot – made me laugh tho, so thanks for that.
Orkney Star – you been to the QUACK yet? That cold and the bad back have been holding you up for far too long, are you overdoing it with the little one and the racing cars?
Salome- hope you manage to get all the knitting done prior to the Christmas, great idea about the group as ISOM said best idea ever to have a knit and a chat and a CAKE good luck with that.
Kinsey – hope you found the flying bat pattern and got that finished too. I took one look at a crochet chart and nearly had to lie down in a darkened room….Scared me, having just learned the curly wurley key ring doo dah thingie. Perhaps that should be on my list of TO DO for next year.
POL –how do you manage to keep up with the charity knitting/crochet at this time of the year, I can hardly get my own things on the go with so many other things that need doing, I have a note to myself to get my finger out and get on with it, but I ain’t too hopeful of that happening.
PRFUNGI- wonderful totals for the fayre – you must have worked awfly hard at it and another to come in the spring well done what a great total hope pamspal is feeling a wee bit better. Wet dog smells at mine, two big cowards when it rains so we all get drenched, just love a walk in the rain!
PIPPAS- you big KID you, sitting on Santa’s lap and no doubt telling him just what you would like for your Christmas – I was green with envy when I read that, you must all have had such a lovely day, and you have the girlies arriving shortly too – wow bet your all excited at your house.
F1- just put that all down to experience and then move onward and upward Jaqui – can’t believe how some folk can be so abrupt on a forum – I am just so glad it never happens hear, this must be the lovey dovey part of MSE, it sure feels it from where I sit.
HELDUN – good luck with the crochet – I managed it and that was a true surprise I just need to keep at it and not forget the bits I have learnt so far.
Mioliere I see you are still at the DIY and that dusting stuff getting in the way of all the crochet, the weeks will fly in now till its time for you to return to the UK so perhaps you should call a halt to ironing, cleaning etc and just concentrate on the cuppa’s and the crochet, not sure how you explain that to your DH tho’
MAYTAURUS you are a STAR, we all know you are under a heck of a lot of pressure and still you find time to post the bestest photo’s, links, funny bits, just remember to take time for yourself, even if it is only now and again! OH and can you STOP posting patterns for a couple of weeks and let me catch up with all my work in progress?
Newbies – think its ladykath (returning?) knithappens and Keiss 21 WELCOME one and ALL we certainly are NOT frightening here oh and it takes ages to catch up with everybody and everything that is going on but its worth it in the end
If I have forgotten even one person TELL ME cos’ it ain’t nice to be left out in the cold. I am off for a coffee, then I might get back on again! Hope you all have a great day, whatever you are up to.
MIA- tender thoughts and only good wishes to you all

Maytaurus... Loved the links, especially the knitted key ring novelties :-)
Pippa s... I've made a pom pom scarf. Did it in an evening :-) Good luck with yours.
Well, got a lot of my neighbours sock done. Will get on with some more of it in a minute. My friend is on her 2nd charity square :-) Puts me to shame as I haven't done anymore to mine since Monday :-(
Have a blessed, happy and proserous day :-)

    A work in progress :D
  • morning me lovelies...woken with sore throat, bad nights sleep but still feeling loved. Friends for tea so a tidy up needed and trip to get supplies...I fancy creme brulee for pud! Will change sheets and have a snooze this pm and try to start scarf - didnt hapen last night due to phone calls etc...
may love the patterns...do you have the final victorian linky as I couldnt get it to open and thought it would go lovely with my brown wrapping...:) Loved the santa non pc...
chalky re the gloves...I've now made a few pairs and you need to start the ribby bit on the right side or it goes back to front (learned by error!!) also same appoles when you start the waffle or you get a bump! I love them and will be making me some after scarf! You do need to concentrate a bit - I kept forgetting where I was and had tweedy wool so hard to see stitches! off to start the housework...really would like to just go back to bed!!
hugs those that need them...pfungi; psso etc etc and mia's who are lurking hope thngs improve soon...

  • ISOM - glad everything went well for you yesterday. When I knitted the pattern I copied from your book I got mixed up with the right side and the wrong side, lol. I have knitted two sets including the hat and one set has one side for the RS and the other set has the other side for the RS (if you get what I mean). Now I just have to fathom how make the corsage bit.

Salome - I get in a pickle when I plan things. I start off doing one thing they get waylaid and start something else, so nothing ever gets finished.

May - thank you for the lovely patterns for bits and bobs.
