Hi Pam - good to hear from you. I agree - this thread is really good for the soul, isn't it?
I hope you can get your meds sorted so they are just right for you.
Sorry to hear that Pam'sPal's life is not going so well. Please give here a big (((hug))).
I can well understand you wanting to avoid taking your Mum shopping - it's stressful enough on your own these days.
I still haven't done a pair of fingerless gloves but I have just sorted out the wool for some, and will start them this afternoon. Looking forward to seeing photos of yours.

Disaster! Finished the needle roll, felted it and...yup you guessed it - it didint felt..am going to email rowan as its a costly error (15 of wool) which while can be unpicked s gutting as it took me ages...I now have a very long piece of green nothingness, no extra dosh and not enough time...
Have moved on to a pair of waffle gloves that look lovely so far. House bits to do today - hoover, juggle furniture, put washing away etc...but some knitting in between!
Hugs all that need them!
Re updates I think suspending to Jan a great idea..mostly cos I've done no charity knitting and feel very guilty!!Well done those that manage it - I'm just not quick enough yet!
Sorry to hear felting not going well - found this list of tips which might help:
http://knitting.about.com/od/felting/qt/felting_tips.htm
I'd never come across machine felting before; hand felting involves bashing wet fabric a lot, so I think that the agitation is more important than the heat. If you put your knitting in a pillow case to protect it and then loads of heavy things in the washing machine (jeans, washing balls (as seen in Lakeland) trainers etc then that might help?0 -
Orkney - what a lovely picture of your LO. He looks angelic! The scarf is great. too.

Hi all, the party last night was really good. We all took some party food and our own drinks of choice. I ate far too much, but Hey, its nearly Christmas.
I have been into town with an elderly friend this morning who is moving house soon. The house sale etc has been very stressful for her and she has enough probs already so I do feel really sorry for her. Though I will miss her lots, she will be near to her family so it is for the better.
Hope to get some knitting done later as partner is out for evening.
I am doing some sleep socks at the moment in a lovely warm pink. They are on circs using the magic loop system which I learned from an online tutorial. I will put the pattern on here if anyone is interested.
Another use for fingerless mitts is whilst reading and on the computer (my mouse hand always gets cold).
Mioliere, I had a quick look at Yahoo group and will join that too.
I do use the local Freecycle and find that brilliant.
Hope you are all keeping well and warm.
Hugs K x0
