Hi everyone. Up early again but I don't mind that.

Ladykath - glad the party went well.

Kinsey - hope things go well for your brother.

Jean - your photos on Wooligans are great!

I also get a cold mouse hand - it's annoying but I think has something to do with being on the PC too often!

Well, I've almost finished one fingerless glove but I kept getting distracted during the waffle bit and I had to unpick it twice. Anyway, I'm really pleased with it so far so thanks to Pam for the pattern (and the idea of casting on 32 instead of 36 which is what I've done because my Mum's hands are small) I just know she'll be really pleased with them. I still want to make her two crocheted cushion covers - I already have the cushions - and the wheelchair wrap but, with everything else I have to do, I don't know if I'll get it all done. I still have DGS's lapghan on the go, plus I want to make a few more things for my newest grandchild, some more scarves, and some flower brooches. There is never enough time.

Talking of Flylady and all that, moving into a house that's half done so that half your things remain unpacked is a great way of saving on housework!

Well, DH has been busy glossing doors so I've not had to help with that - I get fed up with the smell of paint, though, but I know it needs to be done. He's also painted the front door (well, it's the back door really but the one we use all the time). It was a horrid yellow and green (have no idea why the previous owner went for those colours!), and now it's white and just waiting for the final coat, and the glass at the top to be replaced. DH took it out while he was painting, held it back in place to see what it would look like, then it slipped out of his hands narrowly missing his head, and smashed to pieces all over the hall floor! Anyway, it WILL look nice eventually.

Well, as usual, the kettle is playing my tune.

Oh you were up as early as me Kathy, had too many jobs running through my mind so I just got up, nice to see you calling in SGT, hope your having great weather.
I was so impressed by the squiggly scarf crochet (but not enough to do a whole scarf) that I decided I would have a go at these

done while I was SITTING in the chair last night the colours are much brighter than the photo - so I shouldn't miss place the front door keys in a hurry. Hope you all have a great day whatever you are up to, cuddles and possitive thoughts for everybody. I am off to see some cows then back for a spot of machine knitting, will call in a bit later.

Brilliant, Jean, and very quick to do, I shoud think. I have some spare key rings so I shall be having a go at some. They'll make brilliant stocking fillers, won't they? Thanks for posting!

Good job I've never signed up to the flylady thread - they'd sack me! Or maybe I should? Is anyone here a flylady?
As you will see from my sig I am a partial Flylady! TBH I don't really stick to the lists posted by Pigpen in that I don't do it on her days, rather when I have the energy. They now do a thing where you get stars for days completed, was doing that for a while, but no longer as it doesn't really work for me! I'd rather fit my cleaning round my life than my life round my cleaning so won't ever be a perfect 'flylady' me thinks. It does help some, and although the thread can feel a bit overwhelming they are generally a friendly bunch!
Started a waffle glove last night, in deep cherry red, nearly done (had to put it down 4 rows from end for fear of falling onto needles!). Would have got more done but was out at a Church meeting (and somehow volunteered to do some computer stuff....is easy but just needs someone to do it tbh!).
Jean I love the key ring :).
Well mum was supposed to phone yesterday but nothing from her so don't know if she is still in hospital (it is so expensive to phone her bedside phone and her mobile has no sig, but she can phone me for free!), think will send her present to sister and she can take to hospital or home...not sure ...don't think it will be there in time for her birthday regardless!
Ok, hugs to all the poorlies, MIA's, lurkers. Hope the rest of you are well (I STILL have cold!).

Loved the key ring :-) I have the Fly Lady book, but she's too organised for me lol.
I have two birthday children today. My son in Cardiff, and one of my daughters share the day together :-) My son is 24 and my daughter is 17. Will be in Cardiff tomorrow. Having photos done with my 22yr daughter at a studio there. Then we will visit the birthday boy :-)
No knitting on my needles at the moment, must put that right sometime today, or I shall get withdrawal symptoms lol.
Everyone have a good day today. Prosperous knitting, and hugs to anyone who needs them :-)

    Morning all.

Jean what a great idea for key rings, could have different colours for different keys.

Orkney Star the hospital phones are ridiculously expensive aren't they, hope you hear something soon, it's such a worry when you don't.

Update: spoke to hospital and Doc wants to see her mon/tue so tue for home at latest. Mum then phoned me and updated- she is getting better and optimistic they are now mentioning home! Will send her pressie to hosp this morning, and she will hopefully get it- if it hasn't come when she leaves she will ask nurses to let her know if it arrives there.
:). One thing half sorted lol!

Salome - how lovely (but doubly expensive!) that two of your children share the same birthday. My eldest son was born on my birthday which makes it extra special for us both, and it was a lovely birthday present for me many years ago!

Orkney - I do hope your Mum can come home soon. Good luck to her.

I keep thinking about Jean's keyrings so I will have to dig out the ones I have and make a few up now. A keyring to match a ruffle scarf or some wrist-warmers/fingerless gloves would be lovely as a present.

Well, back to the grindstone. I came on here with a cup of coffee but I've drunk that now, so my break is over!

(((Hugs))) to all the MIAs. I hope life is treating you all well.

I have two others that share the same birthday as well :-) My 19yr old and 15yr old both have a birthday on the 22nd Sept. My youngest has her birthday the day before my eldest, so I nearly made it a hatrick :-)
