  • anyone hear the expletives?! Cast on twice, two rows and definately need to fina new pattern...much too complicated for me so off to hunt! Have made the recipe I posted yesterday and forgot to say ignore some instructions! Put 1/2 the ammt of water they say, dssolver sugar and add the rest (minus vodka) to a pan and simmer genty. Cool and then bottle in a STERILISED jar (very important as bacteria will ruin it) and add vodka and steep for couple weeks...I added nutmeg and cloves to mine! Off to hunt pattern...

  • I too learned to crochet when I was very small, I could probably 'cast on' or whatever you do and I think a treble is going into the same chain three times??? Oh, and I made a crocheted cwtchy blanket for eldest DD when she was a baby (aah, memories).

That's a lovely pattern, ISOM. A great find!

I've just thought of another use for Jean's curlies! Worked in Christmassy coloured metallic thread, they would make lovely ties for Christmas pressies. You make a basic chain to tie round the pressie, then add two or three curlies to it to finish it off.

I'm going to try and stop thinking about them now!

Hope you are all having a great evening.

ISOM - great scarf pattern but I have no one to make it for,
PRFUNGI - dog will look the bees knees come christmas then, mine will be disguised as deer, in the hope that the local hunt don't mistake them for the real thing!
the wee dangles have really started something, this is what I get for going looking for how to crochet, the next thing I want to try is the crochet balls/buttons I came across the other day. I haven't het managed to do lines but will eventually, I am having such fun just learning new techniques.
back a bit later to catch up then
    xx
Is it the sale today? If it is I hope there are loads of folk out and SPENDING money. Head like a sieve all this week perhaps I will buck my ideas up next week.
PIPPAS- don't think my standard of knitting or crochet or even my sewing is up to the JL standards, perhaps I should be trying a bit harder to be perfect, instead of rushing at everything like a bull at the gate, but I just haven't enough hours in the day for all the lovely things I really would like to do!

    Morning everyone,

Shez how did the stall go? Hope you made lots of money.

Pam if I did that with my dogs Oscar would immediately eat his and Bunty would sit look at me as if I'd kicked her! It would make a lovely picture though.

Jean I have crocheted over buttons when I didn't have any that matched a cardi, it works very well. I know what you mean about ideas, a lot are forgotten before they're made, suppose I should write it down, how long would that list be?

    Shaz hope you're ok.

ISOM is that yarn a fine DK? Have you looked on Ravelry?

Hope all missing are just too busy to chat!

    Love to everyone. xxxx

    Morning all,

I have given in and gone back to find the ruffle scarf pattern, am feeling left out now and want to part of the ruffle club:D, I am fully expecting to see loads of ladies wearing them in January wouldn't that be great knowing it was probably made by one of us.

I finished a pair of waffle gloves yesterday in cream, really quick to make and they look fab, I was thinking of trying to make them smaller for ds2 as he wont wear gloves cos he can't hold his dinosaurs properly, I shall experiment with that.

well must get on christmas decs are going up today, ds1 is almost at exploding point:eek:, lord knows what he's going to be like in a couple of weeks:D

Take care all, will try to pop back in later or tomorrow but you can never tell in this madhouse.:rotfl:
