i hope the poorlies are continuing to improve.
i also hope everyones plans are on track for christmas
ive got cards as yet unwritten, and have madde a start on the wrapping but still need to get the stuff from santa wrapped.
The DDs are proving difficult youngest in particular never wants anything (which is lovely but very frustrating when you WANT to get her presents) mind you i shouldnt really be knocking a 17 year old who is wittling for stuff should i;)
wool seems to be taking over the lounge at the time of writing this there are 3 balls on the puter table along with a stack of wristwarmers, a fishermans hat on needles on the sofa and mums cardi which is at least wrapped on the dining table awaiting a label so i can put it with her other presents. (and thats just this room:o) our bedroom is another story .

  • ISOM - do sympathise over your toothache, it can be unbearable. I made your chocolate brownie at the weekend, scrummy but soooo fattening (and filling).
  • Morning all

Can’t believe how cold it is this morning – car thermometer was flashing at 1degree and kept advising that there was a “RISK OF ICE”, and the weather people are saying that Yorkshire could get snow later this week. Eek! Anyway, not doing too bad as I know that this time last year DS had already had time off school as it was closed because of the snow.

So – it’s been ages since I posted (despite promising to), and I can only apologise. I have been lurking and making sure I know what everyone is up to, but felt like keeping something of a low profile as I’ve not really been feeling like me. I am sure some of you will know exactly what I mean!

Knitting wise, I’ve been busy with the dolls stuff for school. I’ve completed 6 blankets, 6 scarves and hats, 6 skirts and 6 pairs of pants – now onto the tops, jumpers, trousers and coats that DS insists they *need*. One day I will learn to say no, but it’s for the littlies at school so I can’t refuse – soft touch I am.

On the home front, we’ve had to put in an insurance claim as some delightful local rogues decided to break into DH’s car last weekend and took, of all things, both car seats (for DD and DS), DD’s pram and back carrier which were in the boot….all a hassle we didn’t need, but it’s all sorted now. I won’t tell you what DH called the darlings who stole them…..

Christmas – haven’t even thought about presents (either buying or making) and it’s DS’s 5th birthday on the 14th so have been concentrating on the party and presents for that. All invitations have now gone out, so just waiting for the replies. Thankfully, the party is being held at a play-gym place so I don’t have any tidying up to do afterwards. All I need to do is the cake, the party bags and the pass-the-parcel!

Think I will need to do my usual “buy everything online and get it delivered” trick for Christmas – I really hate the shopping and the crowds and the queues and everything else……

We went to a Victorian Christmas Fayre at the local Industrial Museum yesterday which was delightful and very atmospheric, but soooo busy. Trying to negotiate round the place with a 5 year old, a grumpy DH and a 1 year old was not my idea of fun, but it was nice to witness the Shire Horses pulling Santa around in a horse-drawn sleigh.

    A few quick catch-ups:
May – Hope you’re well on the road to recovery, but PLEASE don’t try to do too much

Shez – as im PM; parcel on its way hopefully tomorrow, and fingers crossed it will get to you in time. When’s the fair happening again?

Shaz- can understand the not too Christmassy thing – you know where I am if you need to talk, and one day we’ll catch up properly! Coffee and cake sounds good to me – let’s sort a Yorkshire meet-up!?
Everyone else – big huggles and gentle hugs for those that need or want them.

    Chocolate Brownies - are gorgeous....xx :T

And finally, I WILL LEARN TO CROCHET - the Ruffley Scarf is lovely but I can't do it!!!!!:mad::mad::mad:

We all seem so busy, but great that we are all here for each other when we need to be – I don’t know where I would be without you all!

    With love,

    Dawn xx

ISOM good luck with dentist. I'd forgotten about your chocolate brownies, will go and look for recipe. Do they keep well or don't they last long enough to find out?

Victorian fair sounds lovely, we went to one last year in Melton Mowbray and couldn't move, so missed half of it !
