here is how to felt using washing machine...bag has been through twice and so far nowt so its on at 60 then its not going to and if that doesent to it I'll have to come up with a plan b - which will no doubt involve a sewing machine! The wool was swapped so if its not 100% it wont felt but mum will love it regardless! Despite the munchkin I still want one for me! (munchkin currently alseep on my knitting bag!)...getting fed up with knitting roll as its just past half way and boring!! All other wips are after xmas so will push through boredom and get on!

I've got a dog who likes to empty rubbish bins, but she rips everything up as well. As she's 17 years old I've given up trying to train her! Isoke is totally gorgeous and completly innocent of course, no I didn't miss the earlier photos.

    Hi peeps

just got in from a lovely evening out with a small group of ex-colleagues. We went to a "gastro pub" not too far away, the first time for about 4 years and the change is phenomenal .................

Ab Fab food, I had King Prawns (shells on) served in a garlic & lime butter with a sweet chilli sauce served with a lovely bread to soak up the juices - beautiful! followed by a superb fillet steak with lovely home made chips and great onion rings. A couple of beers and half a bottle of Crianza Rioja - plus a good natter - a great night for about £45 including taxi each way - not bad in my mind - we only meet up 3 or 4 times a year a reasonable treat.

Course it means I haven't finished off my squiggly scarf or done any knitting, but - I'm happy!

    (((hugs))) to you all,

    luv

    HI all.

ISOM - lovely photos of Isoke! I really must post the latest ones I've taken of Louis. He's been raiding my WIP stash (which is now in a big box on the floor next to the sofa because it outgrew the bag) and he ran off with a scarf yesterday. DH said he was watching him, and he was touching each thing with his paw as if deciding which one felt the best! Luckily, the scarf I found him sleeping on had not been damaged - I shall have to wash it, though, to make sure it's clean.

Well, I've been working on a really simple idea for a scarf which I'll post a photo of a bit later on, with instructions. It's basically just two rows of crochet and took me half an hour to complete using chunky wool and a No 6 hook. I'm dead excited about it because it's turned out really well and means I can churn the pressies out a bit quicker. I have so many nieces and great-nieces, plus DGD2, to make for, so it will really save time.

I've posted the update on my blog - I'm so sorry it's taken so long. I had every intention of doing it on Monday, then Tuesday, then all of a sudden it was the end of the week - I have no idea where all the time has gone this week.

Pam - your night out sounds fantastic. I'm glad you had a good time.

Well, time for another cuppa - will see you all later.

    Hello to one and all
Hope you are taking it VERY easy May

Gentle thoughts to PSSO as December approaches and to anyone else who is feeling fragile. Last year I thought M&S and lots of other shops etc were very OTT with their Christmas adverts -- showing what was supposed to be the " perfect" Christmas, with every sign of commercialism at its worst. Life is not like that for everyone and I think it is really sad to portray it so. This year many people have lost their jobs, are struggling with expenses etc, and lost loved ones especially in Iraq. So I am going to ignore all that and concentrate on remebering what it is all about.

Wow -- On my High Horse this morning !!! Sorry!!

Anyway I am just off to a Charity Christmas Fair for PAWS which does so much good work for animals here. So will get back later.

Happy Days everyone and hope the MIA'S are Ok

I agree with you chalky. I find it very sad that we are bombarded with images of what Christmas should be, even for those who are not ill/in debt/struggling with something/lonely etc Christmas is rarely the perfect scene we are expected to aspire to. We decided earlier on this month that we will have a relaxed Christmas this year- DS will not be a wee thing for ever and we want to enjoy him enjoying Christma iyswim. We are not having an elaborate dinner (as I don't want to spend the day in the kitchen), just a nice stew and trifle which I can mostly prepare the day before! All DS's presents are got, family ones got/nearly made, and DH is out getting his for family and me today. So anyway if you are on your high horse I am too ;)!
Still knitting away at remote control holder for uncle....funny pattern as it is 5.5mm needles but 4ply wool, so a very loose stitch- nice and soft though and it is grey and blue. I think he will like it. Might even put a wee sweetie in there too!
No update charity wise, but will get something done eventually .

Why is it that knitting is such fun and sewing up is such 'un-fun' ?!!
TBH I am not sure sewing up is anyones favourite thing really!
Would it not be easier just to give it a go, save you having to pay out to post to someone and cover their costs of sending it back to you too ?
(You never know you might find out you are one of the few who actually enjoy sewing up!!!).
