They snowmen are taking over the world - starting here..... managed another couple today (while I am meant to be busy teaching INGRISH). They will end up like Chalky and the hedgehogs at the rate they are multiplying!
Linedancerann - have a great evening at the footie, you lucky girlie, sons are a breed apart - one minute ignore you - next shower you with love and affection, I wouldn't have it any other way. Mind you my friend says girlies are equally good.
Orkney Star - me and the knitting machine are TRYING HARD - very trying is how I would put it, but I just will not give in, so if I can find a wee easy project currently the snowmen (takes me longer to sew the bits together - than it does to make them) it encourages me to have another go at something really involved next time - or not as the case has been in the past.
PippaS that wrap for your mam looks lovely, perhaps when I learn a bit more crocheting I will have a go and the scarfs are perfect, just what's needed to buck you up on a wet miserable day.
OK I have a wee bit of time so I believe I will try another couple of wee white fatties.
You all take great care and keep warm and well, thank you all for the lovely comments on the snow peeps, will continue to make some more then

POL-stroke of genius, OH NEEDING another jumper - filed that one away for another day, I see more wool on the horizon!

  • Anne - the scarves are lovely, beautiful colours.

ISOM - my hands hurt too and not just due to the knitting. I find taking cod liver oil tablets daily helps a lot, it doesn't take long to work either. Within four or five days they feel much better.

    Good afternoon everyone!
I've just got back from taking Mum out - Morrisons cafe and the local B&M today - its the wrong time of year to take her to Meadowhall!
She's a good bit better now, although she's still eating very little.

I'm still knitting baby jumpers for the Fete, using the heathery denim at the moment - I just love the colour - I'll post pics when I've finished this one. The fete is on 5th December after that I'll need to go full steam ahead to finish the kids scarves & hats for xmas.

Pamspal is doing much better now, she's been knitting scarves for the fete but is starting to talk about knitting preemie things again - a good sign I think.

Chalky & Mioliere - love the blogs, keep up the good work!

Pippa - do you like the wrap pattern? nice & easy after the first row isn't it? I love the ruffly scarves - are they from Kathy's pattern?

ISOM - re your achy hands - what needles do you use? My hands ache after a while if I use 12/14" ones - but I can knit for hours with my 10" ones - much prefer them!

Orkneystar - well done re dentist you're nearly at the end of the journey - I went through it 5 years ago not pleasant at the time but no problems since.

Seems that so many of us have had a bout of illness so this is for each and every one of you ill or well -

Lovely to see it lively on here!
Happy birthday linedancerann - enjoy the match.
Pippa I love the scarf with the contrast edging - I'm in the middle of one at the moment and I think they look really effective. In desperation not to make it too short like last time, my current one is really long so will no doubt feel like painting the severn bridge by the time I am on the last row!
Glad you had a nice day with your Mum Pam, and great to hear Pamspal is feeling a little better.
Pol, what a good find at the library. I rarely manage to get to ours and have never looked for knitting books there - must remedy that!
Mioliere you sound like a very considerate and loved Mum and Grandmother (bet you aren't known as "Granny" though!) and I'm sure your family are really looking forward to seeing you in the new year. Louis will be pleased it's just you and DH, he'll get more turkey!
Off to do chores. Will pop back later. Hope our MIAs are OK.

Chalky I chained 100 for the first one (in Aldi wool as an experiment) and it did seem too short. I have just chained 175 with some better quality wool (seems to be a bit more give in it) for pressies and think that may be too long - suggest try 150 maybe?
