Jean,
Love the snowmen, can they be hand knitted???

PippaS - should imagine it would translate easily. 4 Ply white small needles (10/11 ish) cast on 27 sts knit 30 rows change to black knit 8 rows pick up first row of black knit 7 rows take off on a wool thread. All done in stocking stitch...sew down the back of hat, and body, stuff well, ather round the bottom then tie ribbon round neck, and stitch in some eyes, nose and buttons.
perhaps the size needles will be the deciding factor on the eventual size?
Jean
x - might just go and have a shot at it now, stopped machine for the night

Snowmen are gorgeous Jean!
Hope poorlies are getting better, and our MIAs are lurking even if not posting and know that we are thinking of you all.
Been to the wool shop todayfor Xmas present wool and after much deliberation am very pleased with my choices. It's nice to have new stuff as have been a bit lacking in inspiration with stash and too indecisive to get on as well as I'd like so will have smokin' hot hook tonight. Woo! See me go!

Hi all - I've just set the dreaded ironing board up but thought I'd pop in here first. The update is on the way, just need to check figures with Jean before I post my version, which I will try and do without mistakes!
Shaz - let's hope that your dream comes true!
Jean - your snowmen are really gorgeous and full of personality!
The Hello Kitty backpack I started for a niece last night is turning out too big (she's only five years old). DH said she'll grow into it but, by that time, Hello Kitty will no longer be fashionable! I've unpicked it and will make a smaller version. I need to get four done in all, so I need them to be quick.
Well, the ironing is calling - must dash.
Have a great day, everyone, and, Maytaurus - if you're reading this, you're very much in my thoughts and I hope each day is better than the one before.

Jean, those snowmen are lovely, I might try having a go on two needles, they’re so cute!
Seakay, hope your dentist appointment went well.
May, hope you’re feeling ok, even if not up to posting. We miss you.
Linedancerann, hope you have a great time, what a lovely surprise and what a thoughtful son you have.
Shaz, it could be a premonition, hope it comes true.:j
Finally talked OH into thinking he needs a new thick jumper, so off to Bolton tomorrow to find some lovely wool. DD would like a new rucksack and I found a lovely pattern in a book from the library, so I’m looking forward to those. Yippee!!
Pippa, those boxes sound just right for me, I’m going to find out where the nearest Poundland is to me and get a couple.
Hugs to all feeling low or poorly.
