    Morning all
Really struggling today with my silly sore back. Did manage to get out and post your parcel Shezmit, and also a puzzle book for mum in hospital.
Finished DH Christmas gloves last night- fingerless ones in a sort of airforce blue. Only took 1 50g ball of DK. Oddly enough it is an ancient pattern book but it seems I have somehow managed to buy the wool it specifies by complete coincidence!
No more charity stuff for now, currently doing uncles pressie, but might sneak a few wee hats or the like in too ;).
Ok, hope all of you who are struggling are seeing some light at the end of the tunnel.

Do want to finish mittens though and get on to beaded scarf. Am also going to make mum a felted knitting needle holder! Getting there...no totals for me as no charity knitting this week.
hugs those that need them and special hugs for may who I hope got her card this am..

Hi Shaz - Jean is working on the spreadsheets for the update this week and would like to know how many Aaron squares were used for your Mum's blankets. Glad you've got rid of the cold and are feeling better, and that you have found jeans to fit!

Salome - your neighbour must have been delighted with her slipper socks.

hi kathy, my mum used 16 aaron suares per blanket, making 48 squares in total

    Hello all!
Big hugs to all who need them and special thanks to ISOM whose kind text really cheered me up yesterday.
I'm still a little low but have to get up and out tomorrow for the next stage in my own dental saga - just a check this time to see than implant is bedding in ok and (hopefully) to remove stitches which are really annoying.
Yes, I am going for the dreaded private health implant (which I totally cannot afford, but cannot have bridge as gap next to wisdom tooth, cannot have denture as 'strap' would go under tongue and I have a really bad gag reflex and 'hole driving me mad as food gets stuck.)
Do you know you have to have less than 16 not necessarily meeting teeth before NHS will consider implants? We'll soon be able to spot the poor by the fact that they are the ones with gaps and poisonous amalgam fillings. It's supposed to be a HEALTH service - how healthy is it for your digestion not to be able to chew properly? How healthy is it to have mercury in your mouth?
    Grrr!!!
Must not get ratty today - have to rest and be calm as 2 buses to get to dentist tomorrow.
Will take sock with me to calm myself - cannot read on the bus as it makes me feel sick - still on first one but have got beyond the heel, hooray!

    Afternoon all
It's another wet and windy day here in Wiltshire which matches my mood at the moment, we live in a quiet cul-de-sac with 7 houses so we are very close knit, one of my neighbours has been fighting cancer now for 3 years but last night she had a heart attack and died aged mid 40's sometime this world sucks

    Am sorry people feeling so low and down...at times like this sometimes good to try and switch focus from the crap things to the good things that we have so in that vein here are a few things from me;
I have relatively good health, roof over my head, fab friends, am taking control of debts, Christmas will be a loving affair rather than materialistic one, the sun is shining (just and being honest doubt it will last!) and cat is purring away on my chest...and just about o eat yummy hm egg mayo pitta which will cost a fraction of what I would have paid in the shops!
ps seakay have text you...pleased yesterdays cheered u up...

Lucie, so sorry to hear your sad news. It's very hard to see any fairness in the world sometimes. I'm sure that you are all close neighbours will help her family.

Hope you feel better soon Seakay, and you too OS.
  • sorry realise my last post sounds unsympathetic which wasnt my intention at all! Guess what I was trying to say (but expressed it badly) was that sometimes the only way to fight the bad stuff is to try and focus on the positives...

It does help to focus on the postives, thanks for reminding me, it is just sometimes hard when your body won't let you do things!
My positives are: 1. lovely DS, 2. roof over heads, and despite a low income, no debts, 3. Christmas presents very nearly sorted (just to finish a couple and post the ones to rellies south, DH not got mine yet though!), 4. managed to ignore the pain to make HM meringues to have with the rasps!, 5. glad I splashed out on RM pastry as have no stamina to make any for tonights chicken pie....oh yeah and .......6. meeting all my lovely wooligan friends ;);).
    xx
