HI everyone. A slow start today for me. Thanks for all your kind thoughts. I'm feeling a ltitle better today and will see how the day goes. If I'm not a little better tomorrow, then I will definitely go to the doctors. It's good that I don't have to go anywhere or do anything major today, so I've done minimal housework this morning and will be on the sofa this afternoon.
Pippa - I hope you had a great birthday.
Mrs Moneypenny - I hope you can see where your MIL has gone wrong with the pattern!
Jean - it's raining here, too. In fact, it's been a really gloomy week. It has warmed up slightly, unless that's me not feeling the cold quite so much!
Anyway, I'm off for some soup and then a lazy afternoon. Hopefully, I can get some knitting or crochet done without dozing off.
I'll aim to do the update tomorrow, if that's OK with everyone. I need a clearer head for counting!

The Thrifty Kitchen "wartime lessons for the modern cook" is also a charity book as the funds raised go to Independant Age.
[QUOTE: A charity commited to keeping older people independant and out of poverty by providing them with practical support, financial help and lifelong friendship. The charity focuses on people over 70. END QUOTE]
Hope its ok to post this on here, I dont want to get into trouble but as we are all doing our bit for various charities I though it might be OK

Sorry Pippa - late on parade - belated birthday wishes and I'm glad you had a lovely day.
I see Pam, May and Elaine are all still AWOL - hope you are all OK.
I'm doing a sailor's hat at the mo (amongst other things ) and I think it's about to go the same way as someone's (Mrs MP?) last year and be gigantic! Nice wool though....:o
Still spending too much time faffing and now have GIOL to add to my sins and still looking sideways at the ironing pile and hoping it will go away. Must get going on some of my planned pressies, but keep getting sidetracked - I would love to have a solid week of wool and nothing else!
Hope all the poorly sick ones are feeling better.0 -
Hi all. Thankfully, I am actually feeling a little better this morning. All your kind thoughts and good wishes have obviously done the trick, so thank you. I still have the slight sniffles but I am definitely on my way back to normal.
Maytaurus, Elaine, Pam and LC Wilson - you've all been MIA for ages, so I hope everything is well for you all. We are all missing you and can't wait to hear from you.
K2tog - I dream about a week with nothing but wool, too! Wouldn't it be great?
I haven't done much woolly stuff these last few days, except a bit more on DGS's lapghan, which is plain and simple to do and hasn't needed much concentration. The day before yesterday, DH said I was crocheting just one stitch at a time, then dozing off, and he had to keep taking my work away from me! I hope to make a little more progress from now on.
My BIL called last night to say that my sister is in hospital so I'm a little worried about her. She is not in the best of health (she has osteo-arthritis and fibro myalgia, amongst other things). The doctors have been trying her on various meds, and they think she is reacting to one of them. She has a liver infection. She's had loads of tests and will be having more today. BIL says she is looking better now that she has been rehydrated. He took her in because she's had three separate bouts of sickness and diarrohea in the last few weeks, so I hope they get to the bottom of it soon. I shall be phoning later to see how she is. It puts my cold into perspective, I can tell you.
Anyway, I hope to get the update done as soon as I can; sorry it's not been done yet.
I hope everyone here is well, and that you all have a good day, despite the weather forecast! It's been wet and gloomy here, too.

morning all.
Mioliere hope you get good news about your sister, poor lady, it does put some of our gripes in perspective.
k2tog wouldn't a woolly week be just heaven.
We went with my brother to a clinic an hour's drive away yesterday, for special physio for his back, only to be told they can't help him. He had an epidural(sp) injection last week and it didn't wok. They've suggested he has another steroid injection. He's already on morphine twice a day, although he tries not to take it because of the side effects. It's all very worrying.
Maytaurus, Pam, Elaine, missing you, hope you're ok.
love to everyone xxxx0 -
morning all
K2tog, yes it was me that knitted the giant hat (it would have made a better trawler net than a head cover i think;))
kathy im glad you are feeling a little better but really sorry to hear your sister is not well, i hope she improves and you get good news very soon.
i hope those MIA (especially Maytaurus, Pam, Elaine) are back and well soon, as has been said we are thinking of you and hope to welcome you back soon.
managed to sort mils baby helmet out it didnt help that shed missed the increase row at the end of the rib so had 10 stitches too few and the pattern had lost a row due to being folded so she was guessing what that row was and decided that where it said 'turn' before doing that she should knit to the end first. nmo wonder really it looked wonky;). managed to get her sorted and she was happily knitting when i left.
finished the baby helmet i did to double check i was telling her right and a bit more of mums cardi last night.
