Afternoon all, hope you're all having a good day.
Glad the santas look ok to you all, they looked a bit wild to me, I had to "adjust" the eyes a bit. The pattern is a Jean Greenhowe one I had from an old magazine. I'm happy to share it if anyone wants to pm me. The stockings are the ones on shezmits site.
Kinsey, yes the santas are for shezmit.
Shezmit, parcel on it's way today and forgot to put my name in again. Well, I guess you'll know it's me with the santas in. I also have a few squares left over which I'll keep till you send the next lot.
Salome, what a kind friend you are. I'm sure the socks will be much appreciated.
F1 widow, hope all goes well at the hospital this week, we'll all be thinking of you.
Always Poor, have a nice holiday.
Orkney star, look after your back, and I hope the car hasn't cost too much.
Chalky, what a great find, it must have been meant for you in return for your good deed.
Anyway, enough waffle, have agood day everyone
love
Lisa

I am very proud of him, he is back at the doctors tomorrow to have it checked and then back to school on wednesday so he is keeping me busy,Knitting for premature babies and babies that are born to soon :T

Shezmit- hope Aaron's heel recovers well.
F1Widow- hope your landlord is giving you enough notice .... do you think you will find somewhere you like in the area ? I too have a needle sizer, and also a chart I printed off (think they can be easily enough found if you google).
Chalky- super about the wool, perhaps someone saw you and wanted to say thank you ?
Well the car needed a tyre, some soldering on exhaust and break pads/discs...part of the brakes coming from south though so car in overnight (they said I could collect and take back in a month but would rather get it done all at once even if a few days), hopefully they will come in time to get fitted tomorrow, if not then another night in. Thankfully there is bus stop nearby to get down the town or into bigger town, but with my back and DS it helps to have a car. Will walk to toddlers tomorrow and maybe get the bus back if we are tired....we will see. Really need to go into main town but it is a bit difficult not knowing whether we will have to collect car or not! Anyway, 'nuff waffle. xErmutigung wirkt immer besser als Verurteilung.

Hello all :hello:
THANKS Kathy - I am sooo sorry I meant to thank you yesterday for the links to the wooden toys, lots of choice there, OH is really pleased
Orkneystar - Hope your back feels a bit easier now
chalky - wow just shows one good turn etcyou just never know what may turn up
Salome - you are a :staradmin a real good friend
f1widow - hmmm makes you wonder does'nt it. Personally I think you are right ,thats what charity shops are all about, SELLING the donated items, I know the ladies were knitting for charity but we would swell the coffers by actually paying for the wool, not getting it for free. Right.... off my soapbox now
:wave:May hope you ok
Shelley - hope Aaron 's heel is ok and not too painful
We had a lovely time yesterday with DS2,DIL and DGS, he gave me cake for my birthday a caterpillar one from ASDA, DIL said he chose it himself, he was covered in chocolate by the time he had finished, but he loved every mouthful.
DS2 took him upstairs for a sleep and they were both spark out within 15mins and slept for over an hour.
I was worn out when they went home, but happy worn out
Managed to get some knitting done while I watched a prog about a plasticine garden at Chelsea flower show, it was amazing really enjoyed it.
Then it was Doc Martin, I just love that would'nt miss it.
Off to the sofa with my knitting now. Enjoy your evenings all
Anne

Thanks for your kind words. I love being able to help. I think when we see people like my neighbour, we realise how much we have, how much we take for granted and how ignorant we can be. I didn't think for one minute yesterday that her feet could be cold :-( It wasn't until I was about to get her ready to go home after church that I was even aware of how cold her feet had got. I was doing the overheads, so wasn't sat by her. My hubby had taken off her socks, to dry on the heater and he put his woollie hat over her feet, and another lady had wrapped her fleecy coat over her legs, on top of the blanket she already had over them. When we went to put her socks back on, her feet were so blue, and it pained her having them put back on. Thankfully, the lady whose coat was on her must have worked with people with body problems, was able to get them back on her with a minimum amount of pain, more than OH and I could. I told her I was going to buy her some woollie slippers next time I was out, but last night remembered the sock pattern, so thought I'd make her some as I've loads of Snowflake. I've nearly finnished one. Can't have her getting cold like that, bless her.
Yes, my children are a helpful lot. My 15yr old is a bit anksy, as 15yr olds can be, but she has a soft heart :-) They all work where dealing where the public is concerned. My eldest is a head chef, the next is a computer software technical advisor so speaks a lot on the telephone to customers. My son who died, was a computer programmer, and also spoke and dealt with customers.(He was very gifted with computer knowledge, and although he was only 19 when he died, he had owners of big firms ring him up for advice about their computers etc, and he would 'fix' them for them over the phone) My fourth works in a Jewelers in Cardiff, My fifth works in a retail shop near us, and my sixth is a cleaning janitor in a local shopping centre. He is thinking of joining the army (not sure how I feel about that, but if it's what he wants to do I'll overcome ???)Number seven is at college, training to be a PTI, and want a to go into the RAF as one. The eigth has just started college, and is training to be a child carer, with the aim of being a nursery teacher. Number nine and ten are still being schooled. Number 5 is the one who crocheted the blankets for the care home my dad is in. Number 8 is my 'knitter' and has knitted loads and loads of booties lol. I think I'm going to try and pursuade her to send some to a charity because she has tons lol. Anyway What a lot of ramblings lol. I am a terrible chatterbox :-)

Wow, loads of updates!
Salome, how lovely to hear about your large brood - you must be very proud of them. And I'm just imagining how cosy those socks will be in cuddly snowflake :A.
Shez, hope Aaron feels better soon.
What a result Chalky! I had the same thought that someone may have seen you working and been thanking you. Did your neighbour notice her bird?
Orkney Star - blimmin' cars! Fine while they work, nightmare when they need fixing!
F1widow what a pain re the house. And how rude of your landlord not to bother mentioning it.
Welsh Poppy, it must be great to share the load when it comes to large jumpers.
Have had a sort of busy day today and a good result on the GIOL and will have a busy day tomorrow as lots of clearing to do. Bought a load of onions today in preparation for Mioliere's soup tomorrow - can always lock DH in the shed if he consumes too much and has er, after effects . Have been too disorganised lately to be very OS so looking forward to making a delicious soup.0 -
Right just off to bed but checking all is well here with one and all
My neighbour who is just the loveliest of people came aknocking on the door and thought the bird was the nicest thing I have ever made her and is going to leave it hanging just outside her front door-- It does look cute. Will post a piccie soon
Right everyone sleep well and lots of gentle thoughts to all those feeling in need of one , and a big hug too. Sometimes nights can seem awfully long .Try and do a good deed every day.0
