Kinsey that is a lovely thing to say -- Yes it does make such a difference having so many friends here!!
Roamin I hope you continue to improve . I have never had a migraine but they sound really horrible
Kathy Glad you have a handy husband as well . We have just finished all the cleaning so we are going to have a bit of lunch then go out on the bikes
Pippa It sounds so lovely in your house. What a lucky family to have found such a lovely little boy but also what a lucky little boy to have found such a wonderful family. I keep myself firmly in check about being a nanny but it is something I fizz about if I think about it. We shall see --
f1widow-- Hope the op is not making you too frantic. I absolutely hate hospitals and get in a right state when I have to go so you have my every sympathy. My best friend is right she says they are when you are in the best hands and of course she is right its me thats irrational and I am sure everything will be better and you will be back home in a trice. Just wanted you to know I am thinking about you,

Pol, they're really gorgeous! Well done.
Thanks for all your updates, everyone; I'll total them up and add them to Jean's wonderful spreadsheet tomorrow.
Jacqui - good luck with the op. You'll be fine, but it's natural to worry.
Well, it's pouring with rain here at the moment. I've had a really lazy afternoon watching Back to the Future (don't know how many times we've seen it but it always gets us truly involved in it!) and crocheting. I've finished the sporty booties I've been making, and started a different lapghan for DGS - I was doing a ripple blanket in two shades of blue and white, but I haven't been enjoying it because I kept wishing I'd done it in red, white and blue! Anyway, the original one is on hold and will be finished at another time, and I've started a block afghan in the colours I really want to use, and I feel a lot happier about it. I have twenty poppies to add to my totals now.
Looking at the rain, I'm so glad I took our wheelie bins out before it started. We have to take it to the end of our lane because the truck can't get down to our drive - it's fine in good weather but a real chore in the cold and wet. The commune is widening the lane in the near future, to allow easier access to emergency vehicles, so the bin men should be able to get down to us then. At the risk of sounding OTT, on the day we purchased our house, land, and outbuildings, we were told we also owned the road outside, and some more outbuildings on the other side of the road! This happens a lot in France - we knew someone who signed the final purchase of his property, only to be told he owned another ten houses in the village!
Anyway, enough of that. I've got the dinner on and will be settling down to some more TV later - Countryfile, Ray Mears, and Doc Martin - sound like a real couch potato, but it's one of the better nights on the box.
Hope you are all having a good Sunday.

TOTAL: 4 SANDS BLANKET, 18 CROCHETED BLANKETS, 4 GOWNS, 2 SLEEPING BAG (PRIVATE REQUEST), 1 BIB, 8 BOOBS, 3 CARDIES, 9 VENTS, 3 KNITTED BLANKETS, 1 PAIR OF BOOTIES, 1 HAT,0 -
Pol, your Father Christmases are fantastic - what pattern did you use?
Lovely to hear your DGS is well and truly settled in Pippa.
Make sure you take plenty of knitting for your op Jaqui - think how much stuff your nervous hands could churn out! Crochet poppies would be nice and portable.
Chalky, send some lovely sunshine our way please, it's clear that that and the visit from your DD has energised you completely - any more knitted sea creatures in the pipeline?
Kathy, I quite like the sound of your TV evening (I have a very soft spot for Ray Mears) and I love the sound of the onion soup. Would love it if you would share the recipe as it's been years since I last made it. DH ate buckets of it and then complained of stomach cramps (and wind!) for a couple of days afterwards :rotfl:.
Did a memory box teddy last night but haven't done her face yet (which is when the cursing will start!) and need to dig out some stuffing for the second one of the pair. It looks better than some of my previous stuffin' and sewin' efforts. Maybe I'm finally getting the hang of it.0
