Am feeling really, really blobby tonight as well. Am definitely going to get back into going to the gym this week, even if it is only for a swim. Have been really bad recently with getting through the anaemia exhaustion, long days at work and getting the flat finished.

However, most of that is finished or I am getting through it, so I am going to get back to it next week. I'm promising myself that when the credit cards are paid I can start going back to military fitness classes. Have also got my place in next years great north run so need to start trying to improve my fitness for that. I probably won't do much running till the summer time but I can exercise at least.

Most of all though I've just been eating tonnes!! Need to burn some of it off before I turn into a big blob. Must resist the peanut butter!

Bleurgh...weighed myself this morning and I'm about 5lbs over what I should be. It's not good, definitely need to get back into my exercise routine. It's amazing how quickly the weight can come back on if you don't watch it. Did you know that the American National Weight Control Registry which studies people who have lost more than 30lbs in weight have found that 95% of people who lose weight put it back on in less than a year? It's an incredible statistic, especially when you think about all of the people who are on a diet all the time.

It's a terrifying statistic too, every time I think about it makes me determined that I won't join them. That's the thing about weight gain, it just creeps up on you. There is no major moment where you decide to put on 6 and a half stone, it's just a snowball effect of one bad decision after the other. It's a bit like debt in that way I suppose...

One thing I have always believed is that you don't have to wait till monday, or the 1st of January or after you've cleared the cupboards or what ever until you start changing things. Change begins now, this second. Why keep making the bad decisions?

So, it's porridge for breakfast in the morning, and soup and a small wrap for lunch. Then we're having vegetarian bakes and mashed potatoes made with skimmed milk for tea. Not the healthiest in the world but not too bad, especially if I keep the portions sensible.

Going riding tomorrow night and I think I will park a bit away from work in the morning and walk the last bit in, weather permitting anyway. I'll write my fitness plan for the rest of the week tomorrow while I am at it. And I'll post it here to keep accountable...

Off to have a shower and make myself look a bit less like I've been bathing in tile adhesive...xx

Good for you on the fitness plan and I'm really pleased that your OH is coming on board too, should make life a lot easier and help pay things off quicker if you're both on plan :)

I'm languishing with a dodgy back at the moment, possibly a slipped disk...so I'm off my diet (LL) cos of the strong painkillers and boy do I feel lardy or what?!? :( I'm hoping that give it another week and I'll be back in the pool and dieting again as I feel huge (although not 8 stone heavier, lol)

It's good for money saving though, being in bed fast asleep most of the time!!

Kittikins - that is so frustrating when you can't diet/exercise because of an injury. I had torn ankle ligaments a couple of months back and it drove me mad not being able to do anything. I've never tried anything like lighter life, don't think I would be able to sustain the low calories. I'm more of a volumetrics diet/exercise fan. Good for you though, what ever works is definitely a good thing. Hope you feel better soon xx

Okay so didn't quite manage the walking into work thing today - it is p*ssing it down outside...again.

On the positive side though, I am definitely up for my riding lesson tonight so that is some calories burned. Then tomorrow I think I'll try and get for a swim after work (depending on if my dad is coming over to sort out the bathroom in the flat). I'm even thinking I might try going for a run this weekend...it has been a while though!

Also, only had my wrap and a banana for lunch because I wasn't that hungry after my porridge for breakfast. Why did I ever stop eating porridge? It's cheap, filling, healthy and delicious!!!

In DFW news, I have organised a 4 hour van hire for Saturday to get rid of all the sh*te that is in the communal hallway in the block that my flat it in. Have been kind of hoping that the landlord of the tenants who left it there would get rid but nothing doing. At least it is only £25 though and it will definitely create a better impression for anyone coming to look at the place.

Also found the perfect word for my Virgin Card this morning: vexatious...brilliant :D xx

Have just cancelled my British Gas homecare agreeement - that is £17 a month saved. The gas man who came and did my landlord's gas safety certificate showed me the state of the inside of the boiler...it was disgraceful. Considering the fact that I have paid them a grand total of £204 in the last year and they have been out no less than THREE times to either service or repair the boiler I can't believe it was in such a mess. The insulating boards for round the burner were all broken up and bits missing and it was full of all sorts of dirty crap as well.

Think I am far better off just paying for repairs and service as and when they are needed. The same gas man is coming back on Thursday night to fit the new boards and charging me a grand total of £40, parts and labour, and is even coming out with working hours...now there is a novelty.

Hear, hear! I think I need it tattooed on my arm so I can remind myself when I'm constantly procrastinating about things I know I should/need to do.....*sigh* ;)

I know the feeling though...given that it is my advice I should try and stick to it a bit more often!

Although having said that I've stuck to the diet for the last three days, been out for two walks and had my riding lesson last night for exercise. Things are going well so far! xx
