I used to be terrible with the TOTM thing - tender to the point that I had no choice but to sleep on my back, and a proper misery guts so you have my sympathy. I don't suffer at all since going onto the contraceptive patch - it's marvellous. I assume you've read up on the dietary things you can do to improve the symptoms? I seem to recall eating foods high in iron and zinc really helps.
Nice surprise about the loan balance being lower than you expected too Katy!🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

Am absolutely gutted - check my online banking this morning and some b*stard has got hold of my credit card details.
They've only charged one thing for £6.47 but still, I can't believe it. It was for some sort of email sign up thing. Don't have a clue where they could have got my details from.
Have cancelled my card, changed my passwords and added CIFAS protection to my credit file just in case (£13.80 - but I think it was well spent). I feel horrible, it's like someone has been in my house or something.
And there is something funny going on with my account, need to wait till tomorrow because the balance isn't what I thought it should be. May just be because they have not updated the statement but have done the balance. Think I need to start keeping the card reader with me at work. Am hoping that is what it is anyway, otherwise I have not done my sums right. Sigh.LBM 17th August 2009 Debt at LBM £18,612 Proud to be dealing with my debts.0 -
Well, made it to Thursday – timesheet day. I hate timesheet day, it’s the worst day of the week, seems to take forever. Only the promise of tomorrow being Friday and getting to leave at 2pm gets me through it. Have got a big meeting all afternoon as well, 4 hours worth...will have to drink a LOT of tea to get through it.
I’m still without a bankcard, I suppose it will take a few days for them to send one out. It’s just a bit annoying not being able to check my balance as it’s become part of my daily routine... how things change!
Anyway, DFW things I need to do in the next couple of days are:- Find out what my tyre pressure is supposed to be and blow them up (petrol is definitely my biggest expense)
 - Find out when my TV licence quarterly payment is due and budget accordingly
 - Do some meal planning and buy some meat – asda are doing two joints for £10 which I thought was okay. Am supposed to be eating more red meat because I am a bit anaemic.

I hope you get the bank card/fraudulent spends thing sorted soon.
We had our debit card cloned a couple of years ago, and it was then "used" in Canada......however, because we were maxed out on the O/D at the time, every time they tried to use the cloned card, they were refused :rotfl:
The guy was caught, and no money ever left our account as a result of us not having any in the first place. My friend had her card done at the same time, by the same people, but because she had a huge balance, it wasn't until they had spent £6000 of her money, that it was picked up!

Am having another Saturday night in front of the fire watching x factor. It's very glamorous this DFW lifestyle

Have had a good day today despite the awful weather. Aberdeen is so depressing at times - rain, grey skies, fog and grey buildings. What I wouldn't give for a bit of red brick!
We've been making great strides on the bathroom in the flat anyway. My Dad came round yesterday and we got the rotten floorboards up and went to B&Q and got some replacement ones. Bought dad a takeaway curry to say thanks for all the help he's been giving us last night.
He was back over again this morning and the new floorboards are down and the existing ones have been treated for woodworm and mould. Hopefully tomorrow he's coming back to put some plasterboard behind the bath and then get the bath and sink back in.
OH was also at the flat and he has cleaned out the fridge and the kitchen wall cupboards. I've said I'll do the bottom ones though and then next week can get on with the tiling. Going to do this myself instead of getting someone in - that'll be £200 saved. :money:
Am well chuffed with getting so much done in the flat, I am determined to get it rented out by the end of the month. Need to think about whether to buy a decent mattress for the bedroom. The one that is there is terrible, brand new but so uncomfortable I would feel bad about making someone sleep on it. May post on the renting board for some advice...
All in all just ticking over at the moment. Got my new bank card yesterday and checked my online banking. Turns out my TV licence payment had gone out earlier than I thought so I hadn't done my sums wrong. Just going to keep plugging away at it I suppose. It's all very exciting round payday when you can pay off huge chunks but the rest of the month is the long hard slog...

Monday again - had a small victory and a bigger defeat on the DFW front today.
Managed to do a PAD of £5 off my virgin card this morning - money I haven't spent in this weeks budget. Mainly because I parked my car at the end of the drive on Friday when I got in from work and didn't move it till this morning!
The defeat was when I realised my debt total column on my spreadsheet was adding a negative number. So it is actually £16559 - £345 more than I thought. Whoops.
Sigh, I'm not sure if it is one step forward, two back, one forward, one back or two forward, one back. I'm hoping it is the last one.LBM 17th August 2009 Debt at LBM £18,612 Proud to be dealing with my debts.0 -
Update on the flat too - have had a busy weekend with this one.
The new floorboards are down, it's been treated for woodworm, the new plasterboard is in, I've bought the tiles and adhesive and my dad is going round to fit the bath back in today. Also got some really smart matching taps from B&Q for the sink and bath - £14 for a pair on clearance.
The kitchen has been cleaned too, OH and I scrubbed out all the cupboards, fridge and the washing machine. I'm having a NSD today so tomorrow I'm going to go and buy some oven cleaner and clean the cooker out. Have also washed all the dishes and put them away. Need to write a list of things I need to buy for the place - bins, tin openers, glasses, that sort of thing.
Also need to find out about getting a boiler safety certificate.
I reckon at the moment that if I buy a mattress, I will come in about £200 over budget. It's quite a lot I know, think I can recover some of it from my Christmas piggy bank (lean Christmas this year!) and will have to talk to OH about reducing my contribution to the house to recover the rest of the cash.
Going to go round tonight and paint the bathroom walls, while I am feeling motivated.
