    As I've been working in the call and collect office for the past few weeks, i see how many posties aren't filling out the cards correctly, which makes an easy job a lot more difficult. Some of them do make the job harder for the rest of us.

    .

    every postie should do a week on the door and see what a properly filled out P739 does for you compared to a scrawled P739!

    ;)

    LMFAO that's a good one actually :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

    Some of them are actually like that, had one last week that had no name, no address, grrrrrrrrrr

    And Custardly, yet again i agree!! Couple of days in there and they will soon fill out the cards correctly. You feel like such a lemon asking the customer their name when it's written so badly on the card that u can't read it.

  • Just a nit pick here!! Since when is a letter box - a door knocker?
    We have a letter box - no knocker attached!
    It is an oblong shape with a flap attached for mail to be posted through and a fair size at that!! Can easily take an A4 envelope!
    But the number of people - posties and otherwise who use this as a door knocker - has to be seen to be believed!
    We have a door bell - with a loud bell and it is also attached to a light system wired throughout the house because I wear hearing aids and do not hear people knocking at the door.
    The letter flap is on a spring and even if you are stood next to it - it is not a loud sound but a cushioned sort of whump! Any signs indicating that people are to use the door bell are ignored as are any pre arranged collections for my daughters catalogue company. She makes arrangements indicating when someone is in or where parcels can be found - only to be told that any arrangements made with the depot office are not passed onto the collectors!! Doh!!!
    Personally I've never had a problem with RM but with a postie brother- can tell you stories galore about the problems he encounters when working!!
    Nit pick over!!!

    Gotta admit Swampy, I have a habit of doing that too. Mainly because many doors don't have door bells, knockers or numbers. So we tend to automatically go for the letter box. However on seeing the sign, even if the letter box gets a little rattle :o then it's time to ring the bell :D

    This coming from the detective who finds The Post Office, Royal Mail cards, Royal Mail postmen and Royal Mail Depot's as having nothing to do with Royal Mail :rolleyes: But as you say its a common mistake ;)
    Obviously a little far fetched for you though.
