:rotfl:One thing you need to know OP, is that any company called AA1 Plumbing is not actually called that. Go through the Yellow Pages and you'll see a bunch of companies with things like "AAAAA1111" (often tucked in the bottom corner of their image ad) or even "AAAAAAAAAAA111111111111111" which I saw in the drainage section last week.

It's a way to get listed higher up in any directory they want to be listed in as it goes alphabetically. Chances are they've made up 2-3 company names so that can be listed several times and you probably emailed all 3!!

They realised that you were not an idiot and were looking for a good quote -- and that was something they would not be able to provide so decided to respond in the way they did.

They used to be able to bully you in to accepting a quote and signing up knowing that even if you found someone cheaper afterward you'd have a hell of a time canceling - now there are 7 day cooling off periods just like credit.
