Hmm Tesco seems to be the most complained supermarket on here!

By the sounds of it they deserve to be lol. I work at a cinema and if a customer queries the change we give the manager comes over, prints out the float of the till and uses a money counting machine to check - it takes 5 minutes, sometimes less. It's not that hard to do. I guess Tesco don't have a system where they are able to print off floats on the till - they must still be in the dark ages lol.

The service you received at the Tesco store in Baguley was very poor indeed!

I worked in a shop years ago and if there was ever a query the supervisor took the till off then and there, took an interim reading, gave the cashier a new float so they could carry on working, and cashed up the original till. The customer only had to wait a few minutes! Our cashiers always apologised to the customer too if they were found to be in error. I can't believe nobody apologised to you on behalf of the cashier.
  • when ever i make payment with a note i fold at least one of the corners over, its then really easy to say the £xx note on the top will have X folded corners. Saved me any problems so far,

I work in a pub and the amount of drunkards that forget how much they came out with and are SURE that they gave me a twenty is ridiculus ! I now take the note and tuck it under the edge of the till, remove the change and then place the payment in. It means I check what Ive given them and what they've given me (at least twice) so im 100% confident i dont make a mistake !

You know,,, I do believe it was Tesco in Baguley that kept the original posters money and made her wait a day for it back, I dont believe they even apologised for this either. Very rude. I would not shop at Tesco in Baguley

I worked in safeways a while ago on the tills(checkout girls as my friends called me) and if there was anything like that happen, the till would be closed immediatly and resolved, with a smile and an apology, and as another stated, the customer would get a couple of coffee shop vouchers while they had to wait, the cost to the supermarket was nothing and the customers left happy and did not post about it on forums(maybe they did not exist at that time).

Write to the store manager, if he/she is any good then you should get an apology shortly.
