Glasgow are giving out the £5 gift cards with no expiry date and all you have to do is sign their list.
Edinburgh are giving out £5 paper vouchers with an expiry date of 1 month away on them and you have to also write your name and address on the voucher.
I'm heading to the Edinburgh store from Dundee this week, so wondered if the paper vouchers have the "1 per transaction" on them?
Coz if they do I think I'll go to Glasgow!!!:D0 -
OH and I dropped books off at Leeds today and got the plastic card - all very easy and straightforward. Thanks to the original poster! We also successfully managed to just spend £9.95 - a minor miracle!!0

Sounds like rip offs ato me and the posters should be reported. In fact I have but I dont suppose much will be done. !!!!n shockn Argos catalogues are hardly stuff that will help (although there will be some that will argue As Per Usual)

There's always one (lol)
No matter how many vouchers Ikea hand out, the number of books will be the same.

Hi
I went yesterday and got the gift card. Staff member assigned this task was very helpful. They just wanted your name, postcode and to sign. Piece of cake.0 -
A headsup re Ikea Edinburgh
I went to the Edinburgh store today and handed over about 30 books, split into 3 lots so ended up wit 3 vouchers
When I went to pay for my £200+ of goods, and handed over the 3 vouchers, I was told "sorry it's 1 per transaction"
I asked the assistant where this was pointed out and she pointed to this
3. Total value of coupon must be redeemed in a single transaction by the expiry date specified
So I said "no that means that you have to spend the whole £5 at once and you can't get change"
She was adamant about not accepting more than 1, so I asked to speak to a supervisor (not cashier's fault, she was doing what she was told)
The assistant manager came over, and he too tried to say that the condition I highlighted above meant 1 per transaction.
I pointed out that this wasn't what it meant, and he knew it.
Asst manager NOT a happy bunny-started to say that it was a charity thing "yes, charity begins at home", says I, and that I was taking advantage of a loophole. "Yes I am", I said, because nowhere on Ikea's website, on any of the promotional material instore, or when I exchanged the books for the vouchers, did it say "1 per transaction".
He was NOT for budging, and errrm, neither was I, so I said to him "that's ok you have a no questions refund policy, I'll just return 3 items costing over £5 and then rebuy them individually with a voucher for each one, if you want me to waste your staff's time doing that"
He said that was fine if I had the time to waste..."I certainly do, I've driven over an hour to get here, so another 10 minutes to do that makes no odds to me"
"yes well you're leaving me with a bitter taste in my mouth, exploiting a loophole", he said.
"if the loophole wasn't there, I'd not take advantage", says I.
Apologies to anyone else going to the Edinburgh store and taking advantage of the offer, I get the feeling that they might tighten things up and make it very clear that they'll only take 1 voucher per transaction...so if you're buying several things, make sure you split it up when paying if you have more than one voucher!!!

Sorry you had the hassle amandada, they accepted two at once from me the last time, see what happens the next time.
Seems a little silly stopping you when they knew you just had to make 3 separate transactions.
But well done.

The Wednesbury store accept more than 1 at a time. The lovely assistant even helped me use them on the self scan and reminded me that 1 of the cards had 20p left on it (i was about to discard it) I used 3 to pay for all my purchases today.
Would like to point out that the gift vouchers were obtained using reading books.0
