Hi all, I work in IKEA and thought i'd clear a few of the unanswered questions:
1) This promotion is running across the UK. It is part of a month of celebrations for our Billy bookcase which is 30 years old this month. The books will go to Save the Children who make £600,000 per year selling on unwanted books. These procedes then go towards improving the lives of many children.
2) IKEA has laid out rules to staff that this promotion is strictly 1 per household. HOWEVER, the only information we take from you is a signature so there is a loophole for people to either come separately or use a different signature, something i'm not telling you to do
3) This promotion is for 5+ books. If you bring in 10, it will still only be a £5 gift card you receive. The gift cards are identical to ones you can purchase at the tills except for the fact they have been pre-loaded. There is no expiry, you can give them as gifts, use multiple cards in one transaction. The only limitation is that the cards cannot be used for IKEA Food Services (Restaurant, Bistro, Swedish Food Market etc.)
4) The promotion will run until 11th October 2009 so get them books to us!
We have had an unbelieveable response to this promotion, we handed out 60x£5 (£300) vouchers in our store yesterday alone! Running over 14 days and without taking into consideration we have 2-3x as many customers on weekends, for our store that is £4200 give away!
Get searching for those books!0 -
