my husband took 5 books into cardiff today and was given a £5.00 paper gift voucher with an expiry date of 31/10/09..and on reverse the terms state only one voucher per transaction!! I am not happy.
Oh noNone of ours have anything like that on. Would it be worth saying other stores don't have any terms/expiry?

The cards can be used in multiples, yes.
Very easy, just hand in 5 books for a card, you just write your name on a list and sign. They now have Minnie Mouse on their data base. :rotfl:
I'm very happy with this and just hope the library is understandable once they realise what's happened.
Just joking, I handed in Argos catalogues, new one's before anyone has a go at me.
They actually did ok out of me as I spent £130!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi Lynsey
Did they seriously take Argos catalogues of you!
Were they all Argos, and did you 'hide' them in a carrier bag or something, didn't they check?
How many did you hand in?0 -
Save the Children are making money by selling these unwanted books on. Why would you donate Argos catalogues?
Can they make money from these?0 -
I exchanged some books today in Edinburgh and was given the paper voucher too!. It is valid for a month with no minimum spend.
The books are not being sold but are being transported to Africa to help with education or that what they are telling the Edinburgh customers.0 -
I exchanged books yesterday in Cardiff store. Got the paper voucher, valid til October 31st.
Word of warning though, the one I got from Cardiff yesterday had "use in Ikea Wales store only" on back. Just in case anyone is dropping off books and planning on saving voucher for trip elsewhere.

My husband and I have dropped off books at the Ikea stores in Glasgow and Edinburgh this weekend.
Glasgow are giving out the £5 gift cards with no expiry date and all you have to do is sign their list.
Edinburgh are giving out £5 paper vouchers with an expiry date of 1 month away on them and you have to also write your name and address on the voucher.0 -
I Think its pretty pathetic (sorry just my humble opinion) that anyone would try to rip off a charity with what are meant to be genuine bookks to help needy children in Africa, just for the sake of a £5 gift card.
Sounds like rip offs ato me and the posters should be reported. In fact I have but I dont suppose much will be done. !!!!n shockn Argos catalogues are hardly stuff that will help (although there will be some that will argue As Per Usual)0 -
