I took some books in on Wednesday (not to Nottingham) and they said the offer ran until Sunday so might be worth a phone call. I took a print out of the offer from my store but it specifies te store so wouldn't help sorry.

Went to croydon one. They only were taking 5 books each customer(i had loads!) They did let my under 5 child count as donater so got £15 in vouchers as there were 3 of us. I had decorating books , kids books and any others(they arn't fussy i dont think).
Also it was fine to use them all in one transaction.

    Wish i lived nearer!

I took some books to my nearest Ikea yesterday, my girlfriend was with me so we handed over 5 each to be told "only one £5 gift card per household"

Has anyone else had that happen? I can't find anything in the terms and conditions about that. I said we don't live together and offered to give the addresses but she gave us two gift cards although acted a bit put out.

I don't get why some people who work there are being funny. What does it matter to them, and why do they anger themselves over things that don't affect them at all? It's not just that store, all this week i've been given the lovely gift of a bad mood because of various staff...

Ikea Milton Keynes was pretty good, the woman was lovely. They gave us two vouchers, but we went seperately. By the time we got to the tills, the lady was actually working on the tills! She didn't bat an eyelid and took both vouchers for one transaction.

Isn't it a sad situation when you are surprised about how nice and polite someone is when you go into a shop?

Customer service section in Ikea Milton Keynes....now that's a different story... I'll never go on a Saturday again, there is no other word for it other than sheer HELL!

I used 2 together fine at warrington today @ the self service checkout. Just scanned one card after the other was easy peasy :rotfl:

double bonus was a different person on the books on the way out so got another 1 :T

Might nip to the Ashton one tonight and see if they let kids cash them in to. They wouldn't let my 9 yearold do his own at Warrington said he had to be over 16.

I went to croydon yesterday morning and dropped off 5 books for a £5 card, then did a shop put my stuff in the car then went back with 5 more books to a different person to be told that they had run out of £5 cards/budget was exceeded and there would be no more offered.
So it is probably best to phone and check before heading to the croydon store.

Things don't have to affect you personally to get angry. If I was a member of staff and saw how many people appear to be greedily exploiting loopholes for their own benefit in a promotion that is supposed to be helping disadvantaged children, I would be pretty angry too.

And the fact that some people are donating Argos catalogues....well, I'm at a loss for words.
