I'm not sure an optic could hold the weight of the kind of quantities we'd need for a DFW party! :rotfl:
I reckon we could invent a contraption which fed the optic constantly - perhaps something involving a demi-john (or 6) and tubing :T

it's a glorious day here.... just showered and am gonna get some clothes on and sit on the doorstep.... catch the last feeble rays before autumn kicks in.....I'm just a seething mass of contradictions....(it's part of my charm!)0

you all need to get your bums down here - it's 20C here and I have the back door and all the windows open

Same here BB-warm n sunny-curiously,washing isn't drying though....and I too put the heating on last night.....
Haven't used Stardrops in years-everyone in Liverpool in 1970s used it though...must track some down....
Off to sit outside with the Times,a mug of Earl Grey, some chicken liver pate, and a large florentine-yum!Debt-free...and staying that way...0 -
It's boiling here too, really sunny.
Run was okay, just went once round the reservoir, took 20 minutes (usually takes 15) and had to stop 3 times to take my inhaler.
It felt like I'd never run before. I surely can't have lost all of my fitness in 3 weeks though, so will aim to be back to 5k by next weekend, to stay on target for 10 miles in 10 weeks time.
Off to work in an hour. Bum."I wasn't wrong, I just wasn't right enough.":smileyhea97800072589250 -
Ok, I'm seriously envious of all the people on here who talk about running 5k like it's nothing. I can't walk 5k without being knackered and I'm only 20! That's worrying, right? Oh well, hopefully after 9 months or so of Pilates every Mon night (and Yoga on a Thurs, though I don't think that'll exactly get me fit), I'll be able to brave a run club when I move to London next year. I don't think there's any for complete beginners in Bath anyway.

Gorgeously warm here today too.....good job really as I won't put the heating on before November - layers people...LAYERS!
I've made some huge curtains today, out of asda cheep fleeces and rigged up a contraption on my stairs to hang them from..this house has the living/dinning room knocked through and the stairs are off to one side..I can see lots of drafts in the winter, hopefully these curtains will catch a few.
And I planted bulbs..
And made the most gooey, scrummy pastry things for lunch with cheese and bacon and onion and home grown tomatoes.....delish!"Start every day off with a smile and get it over with" - W. C. Field.0 -
Layers are a good idea - I usually end up under a fleecy blanket on the sofa like a little old woman!
Kayleigh, when I started running, I couldn't run to the end of the street, so don't worry about being a beginner - get your trainers on and just go out and run for a couple of minutes, then walk.
The next time, run a bit further, until you're doing all running and no walking.
Some people suggest alternating between walking and running, and have to admit, it works for me sometimes, but the running thread peeps reckon you're more likely to get injured that way so I guess it's better to be safe than sorry.
I used to walk a lot before I started running, so I think that's why I increased the distance I could run quite quickly, but I really want to do a half marathon next spring so I need to start doing more."I wasn't wrong, I just wasn't right enough.":smileyhea97800072589250 -
Afternoon all, been to work and I am now out in the garden, again. Really hot here for a change, plus it beats sitting upstairs. Shame about the 'kids' next door that seem to enjoy under age drinking and loud music
Anyways, going to stay out here a while before returning indoors... have a great evening all :j0 -
*sammy hobbles in like a nana.....*
Oh I am a nana - :rotfl:
I did ten minutes of my NEW Jillian Michaels DVD yesterday, ten minutes - yes ten measly minutes.....and today I cannot walk! So like the stupid malteser that I am I only go and run 3 miles.....
While I was running I felt great and then I got in the steam room and jacuzzi...but now I have seriously steamed up - I feel like the tin man. I am minding Ryan all night tonight and I can't move....!:eek:Quality is doing something right when no one is looking - Henry Ford
