It's not just that though, BB, is it?
I've had things lost in the post before and the situation has been dealt with very well.

However, the only way I could get a response from C+ was to seek them out on social media after they ignored 3 increasingly irate messages from me. Please do tell me how that's efficient customer service in the competitive courier industry. Judging from the general feedback circulating the web on them, it's pretty obvious that C+ are not doing very well at all.

I'm still being fobbed off - been told they're still waiting to hear back from the depot... not sure what's slower; their drivers or their method of communication. I've insisted I want to start a claim for the lost parcel as, to my mind, it has disappeared in their system. I guess I'll be back next month with an update.

Again, I give this advice to anyone considering using Collect+ as a B2C service - do not put your reputation on the line. It simply isn't worth it for the pennies you are saving. Don't just take my advice; look for independent reviews all over the web - I wish I did some research beforehand - there's more than enough info out there to put anyone off.

Research any courier and their will be horror stories. How many people actually ever take the time to say they sent a parcel and it arrived?

Had a problem with parcel I sent with them and they did seem unable to find it at the depot it had been tracked to. Eventually they asked me to fill in a claim form and paid me compensation based on my estimated value of the item and refunded cost of sending.

I know dealing with these companies can be frustrating but being irate with them is not the way to get them to respond. I have previously worked in customer services in the public sector and the person you speak to is rarely is responsible for the problem. Getting angry at them is pointless and unlikely to encourage them to go out of their way to help. Being polite and patient normally gets you an eventual solution. Shouting and screaming at them may make you feel better but means they will do the minimum possible if anything.

I work in a mail order business - very closely with our customer services team - so I know how important it is for timely responses and transparency. This company offers neither.

I never once said I screamed at anyone. Nor did I even say I got angry at them; so please don't try and twist things to make me look like a 'bad customer', thanks.

I said that they simply fail to respond in good time, and they fob me off. These are both facts. And I am offering them to any potential customers.

Coincidentally, I've just received an email from them:

"I am really sorry that we may have misplaced your parcel ******* and that our efforts to locate it have not been successful. We have provided our claims form at the bottom of this e-mail. Please reply to this e-mail and fill in the blank fields below. As well as the completed form, we also require proof of value for the item."

Will be glad to see the back of this. Once again; I urge anyone to desperately reconsider using this company.

I have used Collect plus, nearly 40 times now, only one lost package.I lost out as the item was worth more than £50,but I was credited with the postage..that's not my beef.
I sent an Egyptian statue and really, really wrapped it well, three layer's of bubble wrap and then in a cardboard box,it arrived broken,I mean the driver must have thrown it.
O.K they said I could not claim on item's like that..understandable,I asked for at least a credit for the postage, especially as I use them so much, they declined
I took a big hit ££££,as I had to give the buyer a full refund,so I'm switching to My Herme's

With the best will in the world, sending Egyptian statues in always fraught with problems and I do understand why CP wouldn't reimburse you on postage. It does say that you cant sell china and breakable items so they are well within their rights.

Personally I have always found CP to have better customer services( better than Hermes IMO) and if you can speak to a manager then you have a better chance of them contacting the depot and finding the errant parcel.

I have used CP for about 3 years now- maybe two lost parcels but otherwise great.
  • spend all day in my boiling office waiting for delivery until 9pm. Simply because according to tracking details on website it was loaded onto van this morning 9:24 for delivery.... Around 7pm became suspicious that there is no sign of delivery . Did call Collect Plus several times and all times was told to wait. And now , 9.01pm checked tracking info and its say :Delivery attempted, card left

Only had one item delivered by Collect Plus on their 24 hour policy. Arrived unharmed. 100% success for me so far.
  • Avoid Collect Plus !! They handle parcels roughly, items get broken and they won't refund. Hopeless service which needs to be boycotted. Read ebay sellers views on this terrible parcel service.

No courier actually really handles parcels more roughly than any other, it's the mechanical sorting systems. The only way to prevent it with any courier is to package your parcels properly, and read the list of things they say they won't cover.

I'd wager the OP sent something on the excluded list and used a fragile sticker for protection.
