Correct bra Size and 'big' knickers

Holy cremoly. Did i have my brasize wrong. Went to M&S today to get properly measured, have been wearing 34b for years and the very helpful lady informs me that I'm a 32c. I was absolutely mortified that I could have got it wrong. Anyway I chose couple in the right size and tried them on and lo & behold what a difference. I'm actually sitting where they should be instead of looking flattened. They don't appear to be as far south as I thought they were. I actually have some cleavage and it feels much better. Apparently 75% of the female are wearing the wrong size because they are using guesswork. Usually apparent by the fastenings at the back up round the shoulderblades and the straps too thin and wrongly adjusted. You can always tell because of the uneven outline.
Anyone else been properly measured or does everyone just 'guess' (I just wondered)
And the big knickers bit popped into my head because 10 minutes ago as I stood doing my dishes, my nextdoors neighbours undies were billowing into view, bright pink (on the washing line). I guess they must be her 'comy' ones blowing on the wasing line

I've tried them (my own not my neighbours lol) and I just feel drowned.
I know this is down to personal taste, but I can't see anything comfy with them, just reams of material and when they are on the washing line (like my next door neighbours lol) and the wind catches them OMG. they look like a two legged wind sock and some of them are so 'big' I swear she could go parascending in them.
Funny though cos she's only about Bridget Jones size,
but the knickers would fit someone twice the size.
I cant stand visible knicker line.

  • Wind sock hahahahaha!
Laughing to myself in the middle of a very openplan office now....not good!
  • Umm not sure wrt bras, always been small, but got measured once in M&S and they said 32A and then procedded to make me try some on and they were not the correct size!
Went in a few months ago to get some non-wired, non-padded, non-fun bras (as apprently all these things are bad for your boobies when you are up the duff and these are the only type I have ever had for the reson above) and the lady again in M&S, but a different one this time looked at me in the bra i had on, then got me one the same size to try, no measuring at all so I think my self measured size, as I looked up how to do it years ago, must have been ok.
So no I don't guess but measure myself.

Sometimes big pants are good, but my idea of big pants are not quite on the verge of wind sock proportions!! Big pants are pants which are not thongs or similarly sized items (sometimes I cannot face the prospect of a thong wedgie at some point in the day- yes I know they are "up there" already but can still give you a wedgie!!).
  • I got measured last autumn and had been wearing a 34C and was actually a 36DD - you can imagine the shock! I have vowed to get measured once a year now as I think I have changed size again. I have a drawer full of previous sizes as most are in very good condition, that way I won't have to spend out loads of money if my shape changes.

I can well believe that it is 75%. You only have to look around at the women on your local high street to see that! I think I'm turning into Gok or those two ghastly horsy women in that I keep wanting to tell women to get fitted for a new bra. I'm always seeing women whose boobs are level with their waste or have fat bulging around the straps etc.

I do prefer big knickers, but not the big granny ones. I just think they are more comfortable and give a a better line under clothes. I always think it looks horrible when women wear bikini briefs and you can see the line going across their bum through their trousers.
  • Definitely, if you wear the correct size (not just bra's).
You are 3/4's of the way to being stylish. Standing up straight is another instant slimmer. Everyone walks along these days slouching (The hunch back of Notre Dame springs to mind).
Lol Trinny & Susannah have a lot to answer for
  • Ooo eck, think I should get my boobs measured properly after hearing about the differences!!! I've been doing it myself but not sure how accurate I am. Hopefully not too far out:)

As for big knickers I think they are the comfiest(sp?) but only wear them as 'period pants' the rest of the time I wear the tighter french knickers:) Not quite a thong but not frumpy either, makes me feel all sexy without the wedgie:rotfl:And I don't get a VPL with them either;):D

Its usually slimmer, bigger boober ladies that get it a bit wrong. Not to worry if you got it fixed. Bravissimo are great.

There are lots of women walking around who appear to have four breasts :D
.................:)....I'm smiling because I have no idea what's going on ...:)
  • And most people have a too small cup size and a too big back size!

It would be worth everyone trying a bra that is down one back size and up one cup size from their usual to see the effect!
