No online currency supplier that I know of charges anything at all for either a visa debit card or a maestro

Aren't the best rates from people who only accept bank transfers, anyway?

It's the BANK that adds the charge in the case of most (but not all) visa debit cards. There's a list buried in the Transport and Travel section linked at the top of this page of those who do and those who don't.

Would that be the link that I posted at the post above yours, yes sorry, it is the bank, not the currency supplier that applies the charge.;)
  • And what the majority believe is relevant how? You're failing to address the point an entity is incapable of desire.

I think you're failing to see the point you're wrong. The banks aren't necessarily 'directly' greedy but their top financiers are! Thats the point. Like you, whilst at work you are an ambassador for Barclays, as are the 'greedy' financiers that allow mis-management and allocation of funds, also someone made the decision to lend like they did and trust me, if there was nothing in it for the banks then they'd have stopped long ago!

A banks profit affects the staff therefore staff get greedy using the banks name - simple.

However avoiding your clear play on words, banks are indeed greedy and that stigma also flows down the eirarchy to the front line staff that try and sell you summat when you queue for the slightest thing....

    Scenario:

Me: Can I deposit this cheque please?
Bank: Oooh you have a high balance, fancy a loan?
    Me: Eh?
Bank: We can give you preferential rates?
    Me: No thanks
    Bank: Considered investing your funds?
Me: Nope - need the money disposable
Bank: We can give you instant access...............

Enough already - you see the pattern evolving here surely :confused: The staff do it for targets/reward or otherwise - therefore they are also greedy, its throughout the organisation - wake up and smell the coffee!

Indeed NID, it is a form of collective greed, which has and will continue to cost us all very dearly.

It annoys me greatly when a denial is attempted.
