You'd be no worse of if someone else claimed in your absence - and then magic notice this and then void the claim. As after all, if you weren't there to check you would have missed it anyway!
Plenty of people have had others claim for them (and I believe they have received their cheques) so I think Magic aren't really paying that much attention!
Yeh thats why i said i'd like to think.I mean comping is all about chances right and luck and all that, well i believe it's all fate, so there's always a 50/50 chance.

That being said I firmly believe that Magic's rules do not say anywhere that a person cannot claim on another person's behalf.
As mentioned previously in this thread, I believe it is probably this rule that we need to be aware of:
T&C's
Grounds for Disqualification
1. Bauer reserves the right to disqualify any entrants and their submissions if they fail to comply with the Competition Terms or the Website Terms of Use or Privacy Policy or if we have reasonable grounds to believe that the entrant is unfit to participate for reasons of health and safety. Bauer’s decision will be final in all matters.
2. Bauer reserves the right to disqualify any entrants and their submissions if in Bauer’s reasonable opinion an entry has been made or a prize has been won illegitimately and improperly by or on behalf of the entrant.
3. In the event of disqualification from the Competition a replacement contestant will be selected on the same criteria as the original entrant and will be subject to these Competition Terms.
It's really not worth falling out over.As with any competition we do need to ensure we are aware of the T&C's. A lot of people have been stung by not understanding the rules the Ford/Disneyland competition recently and will now miss out on their trip.
:T*Thanks to all who posts comps * :j0 -
Kisto, I know what you mean about that rule, but I think they may be looking at instances where someone has truly cheated, ie if they had been in collusion with a Magic employee & been told the answer etc.
Just my opinion, but like in the Bonkers thread if Magic had not wanted people to "share" it wouldn't have been difficult to write a specific rule about it
Like the example I gave earlier, who knows if one of the huge offices in the City are all checking & looking out for each other? I know that sort of thing would have gone on when I was at workThanks to all who post comps :A :T0 -

Yeh true. And we got to remember, that it's not specifically referring to the mystery mix up but could well be on about the celebrity competition that they're also running.0 -

Well maybe I'm just a deeply suspicious person
however, there have been a number of occasions on threads similar to this where someone has posted for the first time to tell people they are breaking the rules & I for one find that odd.
That being said I firmly believe that Magic's rules do not say anywhere that a person cannot claim on another person's behalf. What if I went out & left my Hubby watching? What about offices full of people watching out for each other? I'm sure this is happening & I'm sure that this is within the spirit of the rules, but if you are really worried there is an e-mail address further back on this thread, I'm sure they'll be pleased to hear from you.
Yes, you must be a deeply suspicious person then! I don't see what's so odd about my post, you've got to start somewhere. I never posted before because there is always someone there to slap you down. Point proven. I don't think it's a nice way of welcoming people to the forum. Please rest assured that I am not here for any sinister reasons, I actually run a local competition club for the benefit of compers and have their best interests at heart. It takes up a lot of my spare time and I do not get paid or anything. I do not post on forums very much as I also work 30 hours a week and have a family. I am quite offended that you think I would be getting in touch with Magic FM about the IP issue. I certainly have no intention of doing so.
To the rest of the group who seem interested in the discussion, yes, I think that the people looking out for others in offices etc is a good point. But would they all be replying in the same IP addresss if someone wins? I really don't know how office IP's work. I was just thinking that if several claims come in from one IP, Magic might spot that and someone may be dissapointed if they do.0
