I just too my top off after birth and did skin to skin - I had no bottoms on by then so was totally naked and didn;t care a bit. But I did give birth at home so just OH and two midwifes and the doula to see me. But I reckon you won;t care!

As for bibs - Lilia is 12 weeks and only now do we need some because of drool. Up to now we haven;t bothered and the ones I bought for her in newborn size haven;t ever been used. If you'd like those, the Fairies could bring them to you?

Thanks skintchick. I think from what everone has said I will see how I get on as the majority of people seem to use muslins so will use them and see. Thanks for the offer though.:D
Tegan Lily arrived 4 November 2009 (3 days late)

Floyd Peter arrived 9th July 2011 (1 day early) :D

oh hello Karen, I meant to ask; are you planning on BFing? if so bibs are generally useless until super drool kicks in around 3/4mths :D

Karen1907-on the subject of bibs-We got through a LOT of bibs but only because Elliot had reflux and was always sick. Muslin cloths were great too, not only for dribble/sick but for bottoms too! Elliot had a wee most times his nappy came on to begin with so placing a cloth over his boy bits stopped the fountain!!

As for skin to skin, because my birth was so quick i took my trousers off, kept my top on...then when he was born i pulled my top up and let them put him on my bare chest. I had my legs up in stirrups to be sticthed up aswell by this point. As others have said-by then you most likely won't care! Esp if you bf-i had midwives etc helping me so had my boobs out constantly!

    Keely.

    Yes hopefully getting a pup.
I bet you got an iguana :D Must admit I've never fancied anything like that. Reptiles just give me the creeps along with small furry animals like hamsters and mice.
That programme about strict parenting was really interesting. I think I'm strict with the children and would be horrified if they turned out like the teenagers in the programme.
oh we want pics of the puppies lol!!! i love reptiles they fasinate me lol!!
i took the kids out for lunch yest one of these places with the play areas in them and a restauant. i had so many comments on how mad i was for taking 5 kids out for lunch by myslef and by the end they were all telling me how wonderful and well manered they were! i think that if you are strict and the kids know that you mean business then you all know where you stand and it makes a better realtionship. i know i can take them out and i wont have the screaming child demanding things as they know they dont have a chance, its harder with charlie but a lot of distraction techniques words.

recommendations ladies/men,and i know i have asked it before, but the time has certainly come .... cots and mattresses ..... i dont want to get a cheap mattress for the sake of it becuase i am wondering if LO would sleep better with a good mattress. i have been looking at kiddicare/mothercare/argos/ikea ...
i bought the sprung mattresses from tous r us and they have lasted very well and i would buy them again. the kids sleep brilliantly in them and i think they were around £100, this is for the cot bed so i think i will get my monies worth!

I'd love to join the love-in if thats's ok - those of my friends who have kids have much older ones and some of my friends are pregnant at the moment, so I often feel like I'm supposed to be a guru of some sort. But I don't know anything!! You've all been so helpful and supportive and I don't know what I'd do without you.

Caz that is very worrying, I'm sure sure if the police would 'care' yet but I'm sure they wouldn't mind if you call them to check if there's anything they can do xx

sometimes texts get through even when signal poor. Can you just ping one saying you're really worried and he needs to let you know he's ok?
