Anyone been to Bruges? We were looking for a short break before Christmas, and work travel offers just came up with a 3-night stay in Bruges by Eurostar during their 'Christmas markets' at the end of Nov, looks quite appealing but dunno anyone who's been and can comment.

*HUGE HUGS* Feelie.. So proud of you that you're seeking help too xx How is Toby today?

Welcome gizmomum :hello: Another 13 month age gap.. we have a few with the same so lots of support here if you need it :D Wouldn't worry too much about catching up - you'll be there all week.. Just dive in and tell us more about you and yours :)
  • To the person who commented on jack and molly being "twins", we've often said that ourselves and i reckon by the time they are 3 and 4 yrs, it will be a very close call.

Feelie, like sami said, its not fair the way your being treated, all i can suggest is you call the samaritans if things get really rough, have y got a close friend or family support to help with bubs. If you can rest and focus on not stressful things, you CAN get thro the weekend. Keep logging in here please don't let it beat you.
  • feelie, I dont know what to say so will just send ((hugs)) instead

  • Thanks for the tip elle_gee, I was just starting to realise what a task catching up is. So do we know why 13 months is the magic number. Do any of you others find it a struggle sometimes and wish that your eldest hadn't just started walking. That being said my youngest has just started rolling over so it's all happening
Quick history: I am a 'geriatric mum' (to quote my darling mum...I'm in fact 40) of gorgeous Oscar aged 17 months and beautiful Ruby aged 4 months. They are adorable but complete handfuls, to compound this I am back at work doing full time hours but in 4 days a week (to try and reduce nursery costs) which is exhausting to say the least. As you can imagine weekends are precious and we try and fit as much fun in as possible, but would appreciate other mum's views on getting all the mundane things done like housework and organised meal planning and shopping.
All that being said I wouldn't change them for the world, just sometimes my Wonder Woman costume is a bit worn out!

Feely, if you think of anything we or one of us can do to help, please do say.
My old offer stands of calling and 'escalating' with the various teams who are being slow in supporting you, if you think it might make a difference.

Otherwise, just keep on chatting to us, or OH where it helps, and remembering how great Toby is, and how you made him! He might be grumpy today, but that doesn't mean he isn't wonderful, and that's all down to you :) So some things might be bad but other things are there to be proud of.
  • Hi gizmomum, welcome, i have a 15m gap, so kinda know how you feel, but saying that i don't do "paid" work, so have time for house, meal planning etc. I was wondering if it is possible to reduce your hours, do you need the money desperately or do you want to sustain your career?

I think some things have to give, could the garden be made low maintenance, iron as little as poss, do online shopping, make a3-4 week meal menu and adopt your tesco shop as to what week it is.

I admire your working f/t and 2 under 2 and everything else supermum has to do.

No idea, my 2 have a glorious 6 1/2 years between them !!! I found it hard going back full time after the 1st and now I am going back next year with 2, I think all organization will be out the window, I will fly with the wind, and hope the essentials get done :p:rotfl:

And I'm no use cos I'm still sat here in PJs, with my one (18wk old) baby asleep on me, surrounded by piles of his clothes that I'm supposed to be sorting and a kitchen full of washing up! :rotfl: :o

Are you at work now, gizmomum, or is today your day off? :)
