If there's a problem with getting him to take meds, can you hide them in something? Desperate times call for desperate measures and so on.

Hugs to MFD and congratulations on getting the tender in.

Kisses to all the babies - I'm very embarrassed to be the organised one because I'm sitting here working on a paper that's not yet finished and has to be finished and edited by the end of today, AND I'm going to a booksald that starts in an hour and a half and is about an hour away.

On the plus side, I'm interviewing someone on the 13th November. In Paris!! And since that's a Friday I'm taking the baby and the husband and we're staying all weekend.

rewards only worked first few times....he seems to get get more pleasure out of causing problems than rewards.........also he will say things like i will take it if you give me £10 etc... unrealistic things he knows i cant do....its a power/control thing and am ashamed to say hes wearing me down slowly but surely x

Hmmm - sounds interesting! I'm sure I needed something from Ikea - i've got the weekend to remember what it was!

Whens Sami back from her hols?

And hugs for Jacks poorly belly button - it sounds horrid! I wasn't so bad with Violets, but when I was a young, silly, first time mum and Joes belly button fell off, I phoned Mum to come round and deal with it! :o And that was a healthy stump - i still don't think I could deal with a smelly one!

Forgot to say my dears that I'm arriving in the UK in the late afternoon of the 21st so I'll miss the sling meet, but if anyone wants to meet either the 22nd or between Christmas and New Year I'm in.

And Glam, that poor little belly button! Molly's was healthy and I was repulsed by it, you must have a stomach of steel.

Effing MS Word has just eaten 500 words of my paper, and deadline is 2.5 hours away with a booksale in the meantime. I may weep a little weep.

    :grouphug: to cloverfan.

Although what help you can get will depend on your area, you should be getting some kind of help. I worked four summers on a local authority summer playscheme for children with special needs (ranging from medical conditions and physical disablities to Downs Syndrome, Asberger's, Autism, learning difficulties etc.) which was partly for the benefit of the children but partly for the benefit of the parents. A lot of the children also had regular respite care from Social Services which ranged from say a child being picked up from school and being given their tea before going home to overnight stays depending on what the family/child needed with frequency ranging from multiple times a week to very occasionally again dependant on what the child/family needed. A lot (but not all) of the children/families also had their own social worker who worked with the family to help them with things like accessing services available, filling in forms (e.g. application for the playscheme), dealing with the child's difficulties, liasing with school, etc.

I know generally people think of Social Services as dealing with people who are "bad" parents and taking children away but that is not the only aspect and getting support because your child has a particular condition is completely different to the more publicised aspect of Social Services. Obviously it is up to you what you want to do but if I was in a similar situation I would probably enquire as to whether I could get any help and what help I could get.

Hopefully that might be of some use but if not, feel free to ignore it.

This dress just arrived in the post. When I opened it, Alice said, "Wow, a pretty dress!" with great amazement as if she'd never seen one before.
