Physio's still happy with Rhys. She can't feel any resistance in his legs so thinks it was just him tensing up for the consultant  She said he's doing over and above what a 21wk old should be doing in parts and he's making good progress in everything else - "you wouldn't know he was prem" :D He gave it a good go at sitting up on his own for her - grrr.. wouldn't do it for me and probably won't again for a while after today!

He's screaming at me to play now - physio's did note he needed a lot of attention!

    Best go..

Your little man is a super star!! So pleased that he's got the physios seal of approval.

i put seth in his jumperoo while i put the washing out and found him some clothes to wear, and king of the hill came on (which i absolutely hate may i add) he stopped bouncing and just stood there, not moving an inch, watching it intently, then the ads started and he bounced a bit, but as soon as it came back on he stopped dead again
so i am sitting here bored, hating whats on the tv, but hey i am enjoying a nice hot cup of tea! how random! no accounting for taste though

I've been beavering away this morning bt my friend just texted - she's 26 weeks pregnant and her cervix is opening. She's in hospital, but she's the one who was talking about my being her birth partner - I'm not sure I can manage it with a teeny weeny baby :( I'm a bad friend.

i found a load of damp and mould in our bedroom yesterday, wiped it off and its come up again overnight :(
i asked what they thought about it on the property board and the general consensus was to have the heating on more and/or ask for a dehumidefier. not good for our bills, plus its only been on for half an hour in which time i've been just sat on my sofa lazing, and i'm sweltering! god knows how hot its going to be when i get up and move around! its a stupid old house with no bl00dy thermostat
How do you dry your clothes? We had a damp problem in our old house and it was definitely worse in the room we hung the clothes to dry so now if we can't dry the stuff outside we put it in the dryer and only hang up the "do not tumble dry" stuff indoors and only in the bathroom. It does (obviously) cost more but we figure it's cheaper than having to deal with mould damage to house/belongings.

I have made an executive decision to have my haircut/styled. I have an appointment for 1:30pm and I feel sick with panic. I'm 28 and i've never had my haircut and never been to a hairdresser before. I have occasionally trimmed a couple of inches off my hair over the years but thats it. I'm so scared, its worse than going to the dentist.

I always thought I was a bit like Samson - you know, with my special powers in my hair - that just sounds weird doesnt it?

Well, i'm a big girl now and need a new grown up look ready for going back to work. I havent told hubby so he's going to be in for a shock when he gets home!!
I'd be scared of going to the hairdressers too. I have had my hair cut (by my mum and OH) but never by a hairdresser.

we dont put washing in that room to dry :( for the reason that we really didnt want damp in our bedroom! we only put wet washing in the lounge and kitchen, but we do try and dry it outside when it isnt raining. i am off to tesco to investigate their coat collection and pick up some chalk from the bottom of the cliff while i'm there - very MSE!! :money:

okay - I have a question! (when do I not). When and how does one start/do baby discipline? Obviously we aren't at naughty step stage, but LO isn't responding to a firm No. It's driving me insane, but I know that shouting isn't the way to go and I can't bargain with her!! It's not that she is naughty, but she's going to have to learn some things are not acceptable and/or off limits. ANywone any tips/books I should read/think I'm insane????

    thanks

mac i've been wondering that! at the moment i just say no in what i considered to be a very firm voice but it just seems to get a giggle  although if its really bad a finger waggling accompanied by the firm voice gets a whimper which makes me feel bad!!

    I agree r.mac.

I've been trying a cause and effect type thing.

I'm not hugely keen on raspberry blowing with a mouthful of puree, but realise Fergus isn't doing this with any sense that it's 'naughty'. And similarly, he has no idea what the word 'no' means.

So I just pause what we're doing and make a cuppa or just chat to him, sing a song, whatever. I don't do it in a cross way.

Then when we come back to it he either isn't raspberrying or we pause again.

Does that make sense? My philosophy is that all I can do is break an association between a stimulus (food in mouth) and a particular response (raspberry blowing).

I haven't read any books about it, it's just what felt right. :)
