Hi All
I can't believe how busy this thread is!
3 - I can only talk for my situation, but I am so glad we changed Kai from a CM to Nursery. DH was always concerned about the 'childminders have their own life' issues which was actually proven when we turned up to collect Kai on his first day with the one we had him with! And although she banged on about the fact that Kai was not on a one-to-one care basis in nursery as he was with her, this was not exactly true anyway as she had 2 other children during school hours and after school she had additional kids as well as her own two... At nursery he is on a three-to-one basis and there is always two nursery workers AT ALL TIMES in the baby room...so two adults to deal with any situations that arise(nappies/feeds/upsets) Plus the benefit of being around other kids his own age, which wasn't the case at the CM's. It really is a matter of personal choice, but we also were chatting to a friend who has a friend that works as a childminder and she was telling us that the kids her friend minds literally get taken around to peoples houses/out shopping etc...we decided that a home-from-home enviroment was not actually what we wanted.......well not when it was not our home iygwim!!
I am feeling a bit down today - It's my birthday and I am now 30!!! I miss being in my 20's already and have a bit of the birthday blues. It doesn't help that dh is out at Uni, the kids at school, and Kai is fast asleep so i'm also feel a bit lonely.

claire i know of a few people that have been on the injection and put on loads of weight and suffered mood swings :undecided obviously the downside to it is if you dont get on well with it, you're basically boogered until it wears off, and some people have still suffered the side effects 18 months after the initial jab :undecided it is after all, a injection of 6 months worth of the hormones in the pill, all in one go...
not wishing to scare you or anything!! what about the implant or the mirena coil instead? both release the hormones but on a much smaller scale.Mummy to

Happy Birthday Mel! Sorry you feel a bit down about it
((hugs)) If you like, you can use my 'if it isn't nice it doesn't count' rule. So technically if you aren't enjoying your B'day, it isn't a real B'day so you are still in your 20's!

thanks emlou, I've got far too much weight already without making it any worse!! That was my concerns that i'd be stuck with the weight gain and mood swings if i had the injection! I don't like the inplant idea as you can see it and its supposed to hurt like hell to have it removed. Not thought about coil but Dh & I seem to be damn fertile and I'd be in trouble if it disappeared. Maybe the simple answers are either not to bother or attack Dh with a brick!:heart2: Charlie born Aug 2007 :heart2: Reece born May 2009

Thank you
I like that rule feely, might well adopt it myself:)
The monkey is waking now, so will feed him and see if we can make it down to be weighed...just want to check the damage from him being ill and not eating/drinking for a week!

How many have you had? I've only had one in three months.ladybirdintheuk wrote: »Morning all..
Just had the most frustrating conversation with one of the script monkeys on the child tax credit helpline. Do you have to have been labotomised to work there???!My_Fathers_Daughter wrote: »Or a doesn't care kind of house!! We went to see one with a laminate floor and Benjamin crawled under her coffee table and came out the other end looking like a duster!!!
she told me that she cleans everywhere everyday and cleans the loo everytime a child has used it (hmm I barely manage once a week)
Chris loved it there and wasn't phased that during the day he was one of 2 or 3 toddlers (he was the youngest one she looked after) and then after school there was loads of them!
eep to babies drinking things they shouldn't! BIL drank bubble bath when he was little and the Dr told him he would trump bubbles (I'm not sure that would put off a young boy that finds trumps hilarious and bubbles fun?!?!):p
I only got to sleep at 3:39am this morning!!!!!!!! Why do I have insomnia!!!?!?!?!?
Hopefully gonna pack the bulky stuff today and drop round at MILs when I go to get car seat from costco for her to take up to holiday cottage 2mo - oh I forgot to say When we spoke to the cottage owner she said they hadn't explained properly about our party aka that it was a family of 4 plus grandparents for a few days and she said it was fine for IL to comethey said the travel agent made it sound like we were 2 families of 3 trying to get a sneaky cheapy

Claire, I just had the implant removed and it doesn't hurt! The only part that hurts is getting the local anthestic stabbed in your arm
Feels a bit weird having them rooting around inside your arm, you feel the sensations but not pain.
I had to get mine out as it was causing numerous problems, not weight gain, though I was dieting the whole time, not related to that though, I got acne, leaking boobs, non stop bleeding. But my sister got hers in a few months ago and has no problems at all.
Depends on how your body reacts0 -
thanks for that BM, wil have to see if the implant is ok with BF:heart2: Charlie born Aug 2007 :heart2: Reece born May 2009

we seem to be pretty fertile (Chris was the result of ONE 'risky' encounter and Edgar was conceived 10 days after having my coil out:shocked:) but I found the mirena fab, the pill didn't suit as they usually made me sick/moody/grumpy etc and I still had period pain with them but with the mirena I had no pain at all, very light periods and no unexpected babies
Its very quick n easy to remove if you don't get on with it too0
