Ewwp. OH just emailed me - Elijah has developed a very sweet habit the last few weeks of finding objects and giving them to us, so that we can say thank you and he can clap and grin. Our shoes, remote controls, random toys, spoons, whatever.

So this morning, as OH was just getting blearily up, he toddles over and hands her a small furry thing - she takes it, then pretty much dies as she discovers it to be a live, large furry spider!:eek::eek:
OH is really not great with spiders, she usually screams incoherently and hides til I fix them, so this was a huge test of character and mothering instinct for her! Which I am glad to say she passed :p but eww!

I have the opposite problem in that its me that has to get rid if things like wasps etc as OH hates them !!

    Hiya

Just caught up as I was out and about yesterday.

    ((Huggles)) for those in need.

I see that there was some talk on Parental responsibility last night, which happens to be one of my favourite topics!!

You can appoint a guardian for your child in your Will. However, that person will then need to apply to the court for a Residence Order (which would automatically give them PR if granted). Unless they a biological parent, they would need the permission of the court to even make the application - although permission is likely to be granted. The biological father could contest the application as the court would want him to be given notice of it. Indeed, anyone could contest the application if they felt the child would be better placed with them.

If you are on a low income, JSA (income based), ESA or income support you are likely to be entitled to free legal advice and assistance to draft a Will but only if you are appointing a guardian for a child in that Will. For some of those only getting SMP, now may be the time to do it as your current income is whats taken into account and may therefore make you eligible for free legal advice. Bear in mind that your partners income will also be taken into account if you live together. If you want me to do a legal aid application to check if your eligible, feel free to PM me.

If anyone has any questions about contact, residence, parental responsibility and the like, I am always happy to help xxxx

    Reporting back on 'splat'

Very good! Free :money:. Nice mums, one dad and a nice mix of nationalities. Bit of singing, then bit of craft. Takes me less than 10 mins to get there. Ticks all my boxes really :)
Isn't it nice when you get a group that ticks all the boxes :)
So a bit of good news and a bit of bad news, but at least he has some joints improving, and to be honest, thats the best news she could have told me, as I could have heard that he hadnt improved at all
I'm sure you will help him to fullfill his full potential hun, he's done so well so far :)
A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...

MM, he is doing very well, some things will take longer than others and I know it's so hard to have patience but it will happen. If he has high tone he may be offered botox injections when he gets older (they are thinking about it for Christopher's ankle) and apparently it is amazing, so there are things out there that can help when he is a bit older.

You know where I am if you need me ;)

3 Congrats to DD on winning dance comp! Are you nervous about her going away? Joshua goes on his next Tuesday and Im sooo nervous he is only 6 though!

Not really - although she will only be approx. 10 minutes away! She thinks its miles away, and she is sooooo going to fall asleep on the bus on the way there! :rotfl:
Yay Liv!! Well done. I could offer to put you, Liv and Violet up for the night but I don't think my spare room will stretch to a hubby and big son too :o

Unlike Keely though I think Wolverhampton is quite a nice city (in the centre at least) which doesn't deserve its reputation. There is a nice shiny new travel* (inn or lodge!!) on the outskirt of the city centre (not far from the Michelin recommended Indian restaurant ;)

Thank you very much for the kind offer! :D We'll see what Miss Vicky has organised when we go to the meeting.

Wolverhampton is starting to sound more appealing since reading the highlighted line!

Yey for brave OH! And :rotfl:for Elijah!

I'm back from the dentist and quite cross with myself!

He suggested taking the tooth out, or some root canal work which would take several visit, and may not work in the end! So I opted for the tooth out - its the very back.
He numbed me so I could feel nothing at all - but I still paniced and couldn't let him do it! I was shaking and sick and felt like an idiot!
So now the numb has worn off, and my mouth is aching from the three atempts I let him have of pulling it.........and i've got to wait for a hospital referral to come through to have it out under sedation.
    I'm such a silly wimp! :o

last night i spent a good while researching a playschool to take katie to next year when she comes off age, only to find that there is not actually one in holywood where i live. which made me think about the possibility of setting one up. i have no idea - at all what it would involve. i know it would be a lot of hardwork, but anyone know wat exactly it would entail? ive had a quick look on the web, but im really not the best at resarching!!?

I personally wouldnt take him out if his chest is bad, dont you ever come in the warm from being out in the cold and feel your chest tightenig, or maybe thats just me :o
yes that was my worry, I think we'll stay in :) He's in bed right now, poor love has a sore throat too and souds really poorly because of his crackly voice :(

on that subject does anyone know much about asthma?
I live at the top of a big hill and when I've walked down to the highstreet the trip back up the hill kills me!
its much worse when its cold and basically my chest feels tight like I can't take a big breath and I get a bad cough that lasts for an hour or two after I'm home.
Does that sound like asthma? do you think the GP would do anything if its only affecting me like that? (I'm a 'risk' of asthma I think, coz I have eczema, hayfever and many allergies )
