Alice is still awake having been put to bed at seven but unlike every other day for weeks, she hasn't come out of her room a million times claiming to need the toilet or a drink or porridge or flapjacks or apples or cheesy rice or bread and butter. She also played quietly in her room this morning from when she woke at six to when we got her up at seven. :j Now if only she'd actually sleep as well as not disturbing us...Any question, comment or opinion is not intended to be criticism of anyone else.2 Samuel 12:23 Romans 8:28 Psalm 30:5

PS, I've been meaning to ask you all for views on gender-specific toys and clothes.
Quick poll are you:
a) gonna give boys a toy kitchen and girls a train set
b) see what LO gravitates towards
c) max out on the girlie stuff for girls and boy stuff for boys
obviously, most of us are a combination, but interesting to see what you mostly are drawn to.
Also: Gender-specific clothing, do you like
a) anything very neutral, so others more guess the sex of your LO
b) lots of slogans like 'mummy's little princess'/'mummy's cheeky monkey'
c) bit of pinkness or blueness but not too hot on the slogans etc...
Thanks for any thoughts
We bought neutral clothes cos we didn;t know what we were having, and I still try and put her in neutral things now - I love greens for example, but we do have a lot of pink people gave us and I like some of it but I also have blue clothes for her. I don;t like slogans very much personally.
As for toys - OH is desperate for her to have a train set and I will probably get her anything that looks good, regardless of gender specifics.
I imagine she will want dolls, etc., when she is older but for now anything goes and I will happily buy her tools and stuff like that because I think they should lay with anything they want. DFW Nerd Club member 023...DFD 9.2.2007 :heartpuls married 21 6 08 :A Angel babies' birth dates 3.10.08 * 4.3.11 * 11.11.11 * 17.3.12 * 2.7.12 :heart2: My live baby's birth date 22 7 09 :heart2: I'm due another baby at the end of July 2014! :j

I have just had to mop the floor !!
Gave Dylan his bedtime bottle and he was so sick it missed the towel and went all over the floor, so I handed him to Chris while I mopped up and he threw up over Chris and more of the floor, so I cleaned that too and took him back while chris got changed and I got thrown up over !!
So me and chris are now in our jammies and Dylan is in bed sound asleep as though nothing happened
Oh well, means I am comfy and relaxed, but I am really hungry, I havent had lunch or dinner yet, what should I have ???The two best things I have done with my life

The female monster already has a toy kitchen on the insistence of her father, who went to culinary school and bought it before we knew she was a girl. She also has trains and blocks.
I won't be buying her a vacuum cleaner or ironing board/iron because she wouldn't know what to do with one, not having a role model :rotfl:
No dolls, either, unless she asks for one. She has Ugly Doll toys rather than cute fluffy animals. Also: Gender-specific clothing, do you like

I bought two massive bundles off ebay and most of both of them were pink and/or flowery. She's wearing them, but none of the new stuff I bought was pink - it's all bold, bright colours or plain white/offwhite. She has some dresses in bigger sizes, but again no pink - mostly greens, browns and blues. She also has some blue sleepsuits, and looks adorable in them although they're "boys'" clothes. My uncle and aunt keep commenting that small babies should only wear white. I do not agree.Organised Birthdays and Christmas: Spend So Far: £193.75; Saved from RRP £963.76

Yep it is me and OH that have made 5 cakes... going to Morrisons tomorrow for the nappy and wipes offers so will have a look, thanksMum to 2 lovely boys who keep me busy.0 -
