hugs emlou

can I don my psychologist hat for a minute?
Sometimes it's seemed a bit like your OH and his mum's relationship has rather a lot of her preferred timings on things at the expense of the new little family unit which is you, him and Seth. I'm thinking of tonight, and him being in such a hurry to get to her, but also about how the cot delivery was so much later than you all needed and was on her terms.
I'm not suggesting this is deliberate or that she is a bad person, but I wondered if she's doing this cos she's finding it hard that understandably now she can't come as high up in her son's affections.
But perhaps I am adding 2 and 2 and making 53!!! T'was just sommat that occured to me.
I really hope he spoils you properly on his return.
xxx
edit: probably walking away and calming down is good, I'm sure little ones can sense when we are wound up!
More hugs for you xxx
Hmmm, my DH and MIL were like that. Dh would go running anytime she said jump and if he refused or was busy she would always end up 'ill' with something
Chris was just telling me something Very Important and I have no idea what he was saying, I made out eyes, hat, belly and that is was good, was a little speech about information (they have the childrens encyclopedia as bedtime reading)
he thought it was interesting atleast. 0 -

Well, some good news today, I'm permitted to drive again!
But first attempt at BF wasn't successful - he wasn't hungry, or didn't know what was going on, or isn't interested
Never mind, not giving up yet, try again tomorrow.
That is actually fantastic! Lack of interest is much better than screaming! For a couple of weeks, if I so much as held LO near my chest, he'd scream and cry. In the end, he'd lie there but show no interest. Then, he latched on three times (I think) in as many weeks, but came straight off. Then, he'd latch on if I shoved my nipple in his mouth. Now, he sometimes will latch himself on (only rarely though, he usually just lies back, opens his mouth and makes ah, ah, ah' noises!).Stay-at-home, attached Mummy to a 23lb 10oz, 11 month old baby boy.0 -

Tigs. It took us quite a few attemps to get started. I think when they feed them in SCBU they dont get the chance to become hungry and therefore find it a bit harder iyswim. Just keep trying x
There was a funny moment when i was trying to feed her and she was obviously too tired. My milk had came in and i kept leaking. For being so early and so small she was so switched on. She just lay beneath my nipple and opening her mouth so it would drip in like a leaking tap!!DS Anthony Steven 07.06.92DD Becky Emma 24.01.94DD Rose Grace Jean 12.05.090 -

just before I head bedwards for a bit of masterchef, thought the secret life of twins documentary at 9 on BBC1 might interest us, cos it seems to imply we parents don't reallly have too much responsibility for how kids turn out :rotfl:no not really, just looks good

quote from the radio times:Identical twins are fascinating, not just because they're a walking, talking double-take, impossible not to gawp at, but because of what they tell us about us. How far do our genes define the people we are? Scientific studies of identical twins provide clues and this series revels in the lessons that emerge. For instance, there's a strong genetic component in unexpected areas of our behaviour, such as how religious we are or how much risk we're prepared to take. The twins we meet in the programme provide plenty of food for thought. Mia and Alexandra were born in China and adopted by different families as babies in 2004. One went to live in the Norwegian fjords, the other to California. The programme follows the reunion organised by their respective parents who, as the girls play together, reflect on nature and nurture: "It makes me wonder how much control I really have as a parent," says Mia's mum. "They're going to be the way they are no matter what."
Sleep well lovely ones

Just because he didn't latch on straight away and have a huge feed doesn't mean it wasn't a success... Just having him next to your breasts will be doing wonders for you both... And it's no surprise he doesn't know what to do... If someone has spent their whole life eating with a knife and fork, you can't expect them to pick up chopsticks and get stuck inTigsteroonie wrote: »Evening All :hello:

Stick with it, keep on putting him next to your skin and you'll be well away in no time
