I can't really comment on the nicey, nice approach to picky eaters....We have always been pretty strict and they eat what they are given...As Sami said, you pick your battles and our two things we will not be messed about with are eating and bed-times! The only other main house RULE is no fighting! Everything else is approached more gently;)
It takes perservence and at times plenty of tears...but I now have two lovely boys who go to bed obediently with little fuss and will eat everything I put in front of them..occasionally I get a bit of a grumpy face or a moan, but one nice stern look from me gets them shovelling food into their mouths:D
Mel x
i would be pretty much same as you mel -- last night, when she wouldnt eat her dinner, she sat in her highchair and her dinner sat in front of her. she cried n moaned and conplained, but we were adamant. when we had finished our dinner, we reheated hers for her and offeed it again. when she said no again, she was made to sit in high chair for another 5 minutes while we cleared dishes up.
we then let her out of her highchair to play for half hour, and she got offered same dinner again, but to no avail.....
Oh says she is too little to understand going to bed hungry....im not so sure. So he gave her a yoghurt, which she ate with no qualms at all, then she went hoking in fridge for the snacks she knows is always there (cheese, dunkers, yoghurts, fruit). so i know she was hungry, but she was adamant she wasnt having dinner.
i just dont know what to do anymore lol. a 2 year old will NOT dictate to me!!!! lolCarla-Farla!!

No I didn't take any but I think people took ones of me, no doubt will see them and be horrified.0

Aimee went through the no sauce thing too... We're out the other side of that though thankfully...
I also wouldn't let her snack if she hadn't eaten her tea... I would give her a banana as supper (and just so I knew she wasn't going to bed starving) but if she doesn't eat her tea now she knows there is nothing else...A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...My Fathers Daughter wrote: »Krystal is so smart and funny and wonderful I am struck dumb in awe in her presence.

phoned tax creidts yesterday asking if i was not entitled to working tax credit...they need to know a few things, including my estimated income from april 09 to april 10....
am i right in thinking that i include my earning from work, so that is april, may and junes wages (i started my mat leave early!)...the only other income i have is my maternity allowance and the tax credits., so do i include this!?
im so daft when it comes to things like this and am also so scared of doing it wrong and having to pay back lotsa money!!!!Carla-Farla!!

Hmm can't remember exactly what age I would have sent them to bed hungry! I have always done toast and a glass of milk for supper since teeny...still do and eldest is fast approaching nine)
I wouldn't have given anything quite so yummy as yoghurt though....maybe some toast or breadsticks something that couldn't be construed as too tasty...But even that not until bed-time!
Do you have pudding every night. I tend to always use pudding as a weapon too. It might only be something like yoghurt/biscuits/ice-pops, but if the dinner isn't eaten they don't get any although that is actually far easier to use when there are two. My two couldn't bear to see the other have something when they are not allowed the same!!
