Sami That pics are great, and that is exactly what I do with El she picks during the day but I'd rather she did that than starve.

yeah he's a stubborn thing too so any thime I tried the if you don't eat it your not having anything else he just doesn't eat it and then wakes up staarrrrving at 5am
    Gotta pick your battles :D

When was the last time Henry went up a size?

I know its very naughty of me especially when I try to be good with everything.... might have to nip off to Asda later today.... I must admit though OH has managed to get a friend to add us onto his Costco account which will help when LO arrives.....

Just back from a walk down by the Thames with OH,Henry & Taz...couldnt keep dog out of water so needed a bath when we got back..

I really need to start Christmas with a vegence... have all cards - just need to write, 5 Christmas cakes all made - just need icing later on and have started to get a few pressies but must go and get all the shop catalogues, shame you cant view them online really.....

  • Carla El is ages with Kaite and is oing thru the exact same she looks at it then decide if she'll eat it or not. she doesn't even put it to her lips either she just refuses but I'm finding it's saucy stuff she's not eatin!!

Katie wont eat any sauce at all. except for gravy with her dinner, very little though. and spag bol! She was stealing chips off my plate the other night, and one has the teeniest bit of red sauce on, i couldnt even see it, and she spat it out!!! lol. quite funny, but very irratiting at the same time.

Carla Chris is similar, I have no tips though I just try to make sure I give him a variety of things throughout the day.
He often eats cereal for breakfast then 30mins latter wants something else and just sort of grazes all day. If I don't let him eat snacks he just gets grumpy so I'd rather he ate bits here n there than make him wait for a meal and him be a PITA

ah, that pic is great Sami!! he is such a wee cutie!!
well, im glad that other children are like this!! katie has just brought me to the fridge again. this time for some cheesey dippers.
sami - does chris eat his meal even though he has been snacking throughout the day!? i dont want to let her snack as and when she likes if it is going to put her off a proper meal at some point in the day!!?

carla sounds like a plan swapping the dinner and lunch times, she might also be too tired to eat it??

think i will try it; cant get any worse i suppose. i usually offer her dinner around 5ish, she goes to bed between 7.30-8pm, and usually has had an hour sleep between 1-2. this is why i think it might be better to give her a dinner when she wakes form her nap, and then perhaps something like toast or fruit for dinner!!?
    Carla-Farla!! :)

    Afternoon everyone!

Had a great time last night, really glad I went, got along great with OH's friends, they are random weirdos like myself, i ended up puking in the disabled toilets 3 times though, because I was doing the dancing and it was strip the willow and basically involves spinning round and round, and that was baaaad for me.

Went to a pub afterwards then got a bus home, I went by the garage for a sandwich and lighter and I CANT FIND THE LIGHTER!! Gutted.

    Hope everyone is okay :)

Caz - I really feel for you having to move with 5 kids.....especially when you didn't exactly choose to! If I was closer I would be round like a shot to help you:)

I can't really comment on the nicey, nice approach to picky eaters....We have always been pretty strict and they eat what they are given...As Sami said, you pick your battles and our two things we will not be messed about with are eating and bed-times! The only other main house RULE is no fighting! Everything else is approached more gently;)

It takes perservence and at times plenty of tears...but I now have two lovely boys who go to bed obediently with little fuss and will eat everything I put in front of them..occasionally I get a bit of a grumpy face or a moan, but one nice stern look from me gets them shovelling food into their mouths:D
