    OP,

Please tell me you wrote a friendly note the first time he parked in your space, including your name (to make it personal) and your telephone number (so he can speak to you).

When I moved into a flat with similar parking arrangements, the letting agent said we should park in the bay with our house number. It turns out this was not the system used. As they were new houses, the parking could have been issued based on lot numbers, but again this was not the system used. It turned out the spaces were allocated on a completely random basis. It might (don't trust what the letting agent says, they don't necessarily know) be that you are in the wrong, and are jsut annoying a neighbour, but if you don't leave your contact details, you will never know.
  • Just wanted to say - do not put ANYTHING sticky on someone else's car it is CRIMINAL DAMAGE but i hope u get it sorted its damn annoying!!!
  • I live in flats and used to have exactly the same problem, are there any signs up to say it is a private parking area? If not then call the management company for the flats it doesn't matter that you are leasing they still have to talk to you, once they have put signs up or agreed that you are allowed to put signs up yourself (might be best to get this in writing) get the number for a local clamping company, my management company put me in touch with one they used for other properties and get them to clamp the car. This ususally works, in my case I only had to do it once and the bonus was that I got to keep half of the release fee so got £50! Please do not put anything on the car, you are in the right at the moment and so currently have the support of the law.

Only if it causes damage. Otherwise every traffic warden in the country would be facing criminal charges.

Buy the key operated pole and take it with you when you move.

I would also park my car in the space when he goes out and leave it there for a week or so. Yes, it will be inconvenient, but will break his habit of thinking your space is available when he needs it.

The OP isn't an on duty traffic warden and therefore has no right to touch or put anything on someone elses car

Lets say for arguments sake the offender is fully aware how annoyed the OP is getting about this car parking space and goes out one day to find yet another note under his windscreen wipers
Do you know easy it would be for the offender to 'accidently on purpose' damage his own wiper blades and claim it was the fault of the OP?

The police won't get involved with a dispute over a parking space, they will however get involved with criminal damage claims
And with the OP previous conviction it's hardly going to show him in a good light

ETA sorry just read the OP was never actually convicted () but my point is still the same

The space is definately ours, tried the wheel clamp trick in our last house, the guy called the police who told me to get it off as it was his property. This only gave him more smugness to continue parking in our space. which esclated it to the point where I stupidly got a nail gun and used it on his car and house front door threatening to use it on his head. You can imagine the rest of the situation. £2,800 down and extremely lucky not to get prosecuted. So dont want to go through that again. Also last time it was partly my fault, I did not approach the situation correctly in the first place, which caused us 6 months of upset and still leaves problems for my mum as it was her house I lived at.

I know its very wrong of me , but this made me laugh ...........a lot:T

Engaging a local clamping company will probably be the best thing to do. Their clampers will be SIA registered and can take any flack from the moron parking in your space. They'll probably provide clamping notices and a pass for your car. Any car parked in that space not displaying a pass gets clamped.

There will also probably be a number you can reach the company on whenever you spot the moron's car in your space. They'll be round like a shot if there's the chance to sting him for a vast release fee.

Mr Moron will soon get fed up of shelling out.
You get no hassle (and no expense, as many clamping companies patrol for free).
The clamping company gets some cash

    Everyone's a winner......
    ...except Mr Moron.

Then that person would technically be committing a criminal offence. Probably "perverting the cause of justice", or at least "wasting police time".

Well of course they would be commiting a crime, i can't imagine a little thing like the truth would stop them though!!
It wouldn't suprise me if they went ahead and did it anyway, just to annoy the OP further
