People parking in our space

throw paint over their car!!
heh though the fold down bollard seems like an ok idea - if you don't want it to close to the road incase it blocks access put it in the middle of the space0 -
I like the "bird seed scattered around the car" idea - the feathered friends will eat the evidence!
But they'll return, expecting to be fed, after you resume parking there.....0 -
Underlay_guru if you're so friendly with these people who's space you park in, why haven't you asked them if it's okay? Otherwise it's not okay to use other peoples' property just because they aren't using it.Don't listen to me, I'm no expert!0

Vaseline and car windscreens do not mix well.
I'm just saying.0 -
Jesus Christ some of the responses on here amaze me!!
You gotta love curtain twitchers
Do not put ANTHING on this guys car
It amounts to criminal damage
The OP has already been done for threating someone with a nail gun for god sake!
It's clear he's got some issues regarding parking spaces as it is so if this other guy decides to get the police involved who do you thinks going come off looking worse?
Do whatever you can to get hold of this person
Believe me he'll end up getting so !!!!ed of with trying to dodge you/being pestered by you he'll eventually find a new space and peace will be restoredFuture Mrs Gerard Butler

[/STRIKE] I meant Team Matt......obviously :cool:0 -
I would also second the advice to not stick anything to the windscreen that leaves glue behind - it could amount to criminal damage. Likewise letting down the tyres - not only could it cause a serious accident it is definitely criminal damage.0

I would just print off lots of notes saying 'please do not park here again' or whatever and put so many on his car keeping them in place with the windscreen wipers and then pop one through every single flats doors and keep pestering the letting agents as if your entitled to the space as part of your tenancy they need to ensure you get it.0

As above, but use A4 PINK paper, and write:
"I park here because I have a small pen1s"
Then place them all over the car with non-damaging adhesive (bluetac??)...:rolleyes:Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0 -
Does anyone know how to handle this correctly. I keep trying to follow which flat he lives in to speak to the guy and explain the situation, however he goes in one of two blocks, which contain 6 flats, so I have twelve flats to guess which one he is in.
Thanks
Heard an interesting report on marketing apparently if they told people to recycle because it would save them money and was good for the environment - recycling went up slightly. If they put signs up saying people in XXX road had increased their recycling by 25% last month it soared because people are more influenced by what their neighbours are doing.
I'd try a letter to every flat in the possible blocks - saying
"Hi, I'm Jim my space is number X.
I've just moved in and am having real problems with a visitor blocking my space. This is especially difficult as I have to care for my elderly parents and be on call for my disabled sister. If anyone knows whose visitor the black fiesta registration K666 NOB is could they drop me a note so I can let the guy, I've been told he's 6ft with brown hair, know that it's causing me problems. Or if you could keep an eye out and let me know which flat he's visiting. Other than that I have to say I'm loving living here and everyone's been so welcoming.
Thanks, Jim"
You've let them know someone with a right to park there has moved in. You've now made them paranoid that all the neighbours might be watching and know he's the selfish t^&t. It's made it less of an anonymous "crime".
However you've assumed it's a visitor and said all the neighbours are lovely implying you have good relations with them.....0 -

Hi,
After thinking about the shame of this yesterday, I thought I'd have a word with them last night.....Turns out they don't give a toss about the space, and I am welcome to park there whenever I want, provided I move kindly move it if they need the space in the future. We had tea & biccies and were very friendly with each other.
Problem solved. We talked to each other about it without childish tittle-tattle.
Does anyone on here actually know or talk to their neighbours?!?! It is a great way of communicating, so i've been told;), and you get to know who lives in the house next to you, however, less and less people know their neighbours nowadays. If I want hostility from someone next to me I can sit on the London tube all day!
Stickers /birdseed/ nasty messages/ bollards etc is grumpy Victor Meldrew behaviour, don't you think?...It will only create a more long-running feud, and the OP will regret it in the long run.Profit=sanity
Turnover=vanity
Greed=inhumanity:dance:0
